Oakland[/url]Grad' post='826419167' date='Mar 21 2007 - 06:34 AM']Being tall is nice, but if he cant contribute, he's just another practice dummy. He's going to have some skills if he wants to get playing time down low against pickett and duke

Now, that is true but, over the past 25 years I've seen a few 6'10 to 7 footers play that had very, very limited skills fairly dominate in their respective districts/regions.Even in AAA!

THE SQUAD

If this D. Kay kid is the same one who was on the Freshman team last year, he will serve no purpose. This is the same kid who doesn't know how to dribble. Literally, he was put in the game, caught a rebound and takes 5 steps before attempting a dribble. Unless he has somehow mastered the art known as coordination, he will never see playing time, and that is from someone who has seen him.

Also, If Montori is on the Siegel team and STAYS on the team. Siegel automatic top 2, that really killed their season this year.

Also Neal Carroll could be a wild card if they can teach him to drink protein shakes and put weight on. They will have the guard play to be tops in the districts. The freshman post for Siegel came on as well, will be interesting to see if he grows too.

I'm not positive, but I don't believe he played Freshmen ball last year.

    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
    • I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
