No way Hose????? Don't you mean Jose.

Don't stop him now. He's on a roll.

Actually, he's pretty much right. Paul Johnson has Navy on a roll right now and on an upswing heading in to off season workouts, while Army is making another coaching change. On paper Navy should beat Army for the next couple of years, but as they say the game isn't played on paper.

I was using eubonicks to spell. Just kiddin'. HTV, no comment to the Army -Navy comments. You must admit the coach at Navy is a pretty good one.

Absoultely, right. Paul Johnson has done a wonderful job at Navy. I'm really surprised that NC State didn't hire him, given that he is from Newland, NC and graduated from Western Carolina University.

The schedule is already out for next year. Off the schedule are Webb, Farragut, and McCallie, replaced by Campbell County, Karns, and Anderson County.

Here's the 2007 schedule:

Powell High School 2007 Football Schedule

August 31 Campbell County Home

September 7 Lenoir City Home

September 14 Karns Away

September 21 Maryville Away

September 28 Anderson County Away

October 5 South-Doyle Home

October 12 Halls Away

October 19 Knoxville Central Away

October 26 Knoxville West Home

November 2 Clinton Home

This schedule favors Powell which is good. Thanx for the info HTV

Wow, that sure is a cupcake out of region schedule, must be nice.

Well it favors Powell's expectations for the 07 year. Having Webb, McCallie, and Farragut on your schedule sure does make your win/loss column bad

November 2 Clinton Home

Definitely a good scheduling move, considering next season's expectations. This team could build some confidence playing the likes of CC, Karns, and AC outside of region 3.

How are the schedules picked as far as which teams they play? Powells schedule seems pretty basic, are there any teams that will be a real challenge? Are you all expecting the 2007 season to be that bad for the Panthers?

I think basically the non-region schedules are done on a two year contract type basis...anyone can play just about anyone as long as the teams both have the open dates in their schedule. Usually the teams agree to home/home but sometimes if it's a private school they'll have to play at the public school both years just to fill their schedule

Thanks for helping us move on, HTV. Feels like 6-4 with a 4 seed?

Who will be Powells 6 wins. 4 seed in the play offs?

I see Maryville as the 1 seed but the day is coming they won't be able to dodge O.R. in regualr season. And they will have to play 5A wher they sould have been the past 2 years.

West has the talent to be #2 but can Cummings hold it together.

Central is not as deep. Haven't benefited from transfers since key members of their coaching staff have left. Good at Q.B. W.R. & R.B. But injuries could be devastating. But I look for them to be in the play offs. Anywhere from 2 to 4.

If Halls can develop some lineman they could be as high as 2. They don't have great skill players but they have good ones. Defense will be solid as usual. They wil be like Central antwhere from 2 to 4.

Just don't see where Powell will fit. They barely made the play-offs when they were loaded with D-l prospects. Just don't see how they will be able to do it with the limited amount of talent they have this year. Matter in fact if not for Halls kicker having the worst game of his carreer they would not have made the play offs last year.
