Union City could play a triple-header with Temple-Jackson County-Pickett County..Go to each school's gym in one day,Pickett County being the last at 12 midnite and beat the Bobcats with the second team.... ..By 20

And by the way.....If you can't spell beat...How you gonna beat anybody???....

I did ask Temple..They said they would rather play Pickett because Union City would beat them by 33.3...And they knew they could stay within 10 of Pickett....

So...Go back and put you bobcat mascot head on and throw out candy to the little kids... .Have a nice day....

Grace Christian is yes 20-0 but because of their weak schedule some are over looking them, they could turn some heads come tourney time.

I agree, Grace Christian has a very legitimate shot at making it to the boro. People count them out because of their weak schedule, and yes, they have a weak schedule, but that doesn't mean they're a weak team. But, let's just wait and see at tourney time, who knows what'll happen?

I am not looking for who is in the AP top ten. I don't want to hear about people who are expected to be there. I am looking for teams that have the necessary ingredients to "make a legitimate run" to the state tournament, but have not shown that it is going to happen.

Union City is NOT a part of this topic by your own "admission". Next question!

Short Shot......Middle Shot.........Long Shot.......whatever you want, Union City will be the favorite for the Gold Ball again this year and loosing only one player from this years team they will be favored again in 07-08 season. So everyone else just might as well save their money from the hotels, food, gas, etc.

Sorry guys, While UC is favored to win, it will not be handed to them. You will have to work for it. I don't know how far down the poll you have to be to be a long shot but I will put Humbolt in there. I think they have talent, and good staff. But so far I don't think they have exhibited what it would take to go to the final rounds against schools like UC, or LC. Yes they beat LC once but I all but bet the farm they won't do it twice with or without epperson/sain. That said I believe that it is possible for this club to pull out some upsets and rank very high and yes possibly win. Obviously I believe this to be a long shot.

I don't think Humboldt is a longshot....If not for Lake County and Union City, they would be the favorite....Andddd...They did beat Lake County already this year...

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
