Well, Dyersburg has added new players to the team. No one seem to know where they came from. I guess they fell from the sky. One of them is very good. I'm not sure about the other. I would be checking for transfer papers if I was Gibson Co. Should be a close game. I give Dyersburg the edge by a small margin.

The Trojans will prevail vs. Gibson County..... we know how important the game is and our team know what they need to do, hopefully the real team will show for the remainder of the season, in fact GC you might see something you never expected... everybody knows TROJANS GOT GAME....... Yes beating a good team is tough, but that analogy can be used in any encounter beating a good team once is tough, so in my opinion it's not how many times you play them. Look what happen to your girls against Obion County wasn't last night the 3rd time you all played them and once again the same thing happen, so if we lose it won't be due to our having had to play them three times I am sure it will be due to a poor game performance. I am sure you are hoping that we lose, so be careful because the 3 and lose rule will then be applied to you by both of your future prospective opponents.

Now let me send my attention to my fellow Dyer Countian.... as I have said in previous post.... People who live in glass houses should not throw stones, in your case bricks. I know that it must be horrible for you guys living in the "SHADOW OF THE TROJAN" year after year never winning against us and having to see championship banner after championship banner go up alone with other championship hardware and now that your moment of glory has finally arrived you are elated and want to rub our faces in your glory, I have two words for you "short lived" yes that is how I see it... Trojan teams don't rebuild we reload, even with the departure of the talent that we had we are only a few points away from a 20 win season, and in another year we will be challenging you again. You can believe me when I say this, we enjoy your winning, because when your team wins in a sense ..... we win (seeing that 3/4 of your starters...well you know where they came from). Now when we were beating the brakes off of you year in and year out.... where were your fans? TROJANS fans are true to their team win lose or draw.... you will see the support not just when the going is good, be careful how you throw slurs and make uncanny remarks about "check the transfer papers", my advice is check them and you will find them all intact and that proper procedure has been followed. We leave the tacky recruiting practice to other guys, Both of the gentlemen who you referred to as dropping out of the sky actually were members of the team last year. One of the young men had to spend his first semester at the alternative school and the other young man transferred to live with another parent last summer did not like it and came back at the end of the last semester.

We might be a lot of things but we definitely are not cheaters and we do things with class, pride and we have the utmost respect for our opponents, but I have to understand your bitterness, because if someone out there had drubbed our butts into the ground as much as we have done DC's repeatedly.... I would savor my few minutes of greatness as well..... because as I said earlier short lived..... remember you heard it hear first...

NO1. Trojan. Talk about throwing bricks in a glass house. Dyersburg has only been in AA for two years. So when we talk about banners and trophies DC and Dyersburg did'nt even compete for the same championships. Yea last season Dyersburg was good, really good, and I mean that. Before that Dyearsburg was in AAA and we really only played the regular season starting back in 96 or so. The Jamboree was the big thing, then Coach Hopkins and Coach North decided to make it a regular season match up. Who would'nt want to do this I mean both schools get a big amount of money those nights. Dyersburg probably has the edge in Wins and Loses however in early 2000's DC took it to Dyersburg and they did it hard. Even when I played at DC when we had 800 or so students and Dyersburg was 1500 give or take we hung and played tough many games went down to the wire and Dyersburg had Jamall Haymon and Preston Barbee haven't seen guys that could play like that at D-burg in a while. No matter where the kids come from transfers or not they all go to their respective schools for one reason or another. DC will be good next year and D-burg might compete after that who knows. So lets keep the brains where they belong in our head and not lose them out or mouth. This goes for DC people as well.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
