QUOTE(Hollywood85 @ Feb 26 2007 - 11:08 PM) 826391181[/snapback]See, that's the problem. Usually we end up turning the ball over and the other team does score. I can see freezing the ball with the lead at the end of the game, nobody's arguing that, but to do it with a 2 pt. lead in the 2nd or 3rd quarter? Does that make any sense??? I don't know too many coaches that would be comfortable with that kind of lead................oh wait, I know one!

I dont know Hollywood. I kind of enjoy seeing a game of "keep away" every once in awhile. Especially when the ball handlers are as good as Collinwoods. Haven't seen them turn the ball over too many times this year. I've seen them draw alot more fouls that help send them to the line down the stretch when its needed.

I'm not talking about keep away down the stretch, that's when it should be done. If you haven't seen many C'wood turnovers, then you obviously haven't seen too many games. They did it twice last night after playing keep away at the end of the quarter. You are also the first person I have ever heard in history to say that you LIKE to see a game of keep away. Maybe you should start watching dodgeball.

I watched collinwood play one time and found myself a bit puzzled by some of the coaching moves. If i was the coach(and im sure nobody wants that!) and I had a player as athletic and talented as Abby Andrews I would post her up, throw her the ball, get the two automatic points and run to the other end. Why in heck does she play forty feet from the basket....shes unstoppable anywhere close to the goal...i dont get it. Yeah, its fun watching her dribble around wasting time but just put her inside, find somebody who can pass it to her and find some polish for yer state championship trophy.......There is no reason why she shouldnt get at least 25 every single time out......

I dont really enjoy dodgeball. What I do enjoy is watching a well-disciplined team rotate the ball around the court looking for the chance for the high percentage shot. Especially when the team they are playing is about two heads taller than they are and can pull down the majority of the rebounds.

By the way Hollywood, can you post your Grandma's name and phone number. I think I've got a few schools that are interested. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Hollywood, you behave yourself! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Sssssss, I like your thoughts. I think your comments are a big part of Hollywood's problem. We would all like to see the things that you have mentioned. Not only Andrews but the ton of fire power that they have on this team. Thompson and L. Daniel have been unconscious from behind the arc and H. Daniel and Rich down low have done a super job all season. I understand Hollywood's frustrations and will say that a lot of the fans have the same complaints, but as it has already been said, we can only vent on here and provide entertainment for others. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Do let me say that this was one of the cleanest and best played W.C.-C'Wood games I have ever watched. A big shout out to both teams on great seasons and good luck to the Trojanettes. I'm not just being optimistic here but I see a great opportunity for these girls to represent 12-A in the big dance next week. Keep playing hard, unselfish basketball and you will accomplish your goals.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
