First it was JV or the B team, all the really good players play varsity not JV. Second this is a softball board not football board. If you want to play that game then just wait till wrestling, and boys and girls basketball season comes back around.

West won 4-2 Jeff didn't pitch their #1 pitcher but had them down 2-0 until the 5th or 6th inning. Not bad for the youngest team in the IMAC vs a possible state contender.....

Pretty tight game. Jeff scored 2 in the bottom of the first and held that lead until the 4th when West scored 4 runs. That was it as far as offense goes. Jeff County actually had the tying runners on base and the winning run at the plate for the final 2 outs of the game.

 

Note: West has pulled out of the Eastman tournament this weekend. Good luck to Cherokee at the Gibbs tourney this weekend! Hope they get in about 6 games on Sunday and get home around midnight. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
