21-13 Halls is what most people agreed on.

#2 for DB looked good running & catching the ball and QB #10 looked poised in the pocket but needs more reps had a few picks tonight but overall DB should have a good aerial attack this year. Db always a perenial powerhouse and should do well during the season.

Both teams had other opportunities to score and looked like more work needs to done in both camps before the regular season kickoff.

Good luck to DB this year.

The Halls scrimmage turned out to be a scrimmage DB fumbled on first play of game and it never got any better.Trying to throw on the goal line instead of running the ball proved to be a mistake. The kicking game was terrible,The offensive line didn't block.Alot of work ahead to do.Maybe we will do better at Knox. Central next week. This was only a scrimmage and I don't think Clark wants to show all his cards rite now.

Thanks for the report.

I dont think he has many cards to show and the dealer is getting to the botom of the deck. I asked earlier about the status of DB's center and apparently he is still out. The second team center got injured (any status?) and they had to go with #3. And it showed. Running the shotgun every play is not fooling anybody when they try to run (remember WB last year?). The "throwing the ball at the goal line" was ironically the same place as the last time the team was on the field last year with the SAME results. With the 2nd center down, a big lineman (78?) getting injured, not real sure about playing some key back ups all over the field. Especially seeing that #10 could possibly start at QB. He runs better, much better and #7 doesnt appear to be that much better of a passer. The kicker at times was playing both sides of the ball and I understand they dont have a real back up for him. With 100+ players surely they have some equal athletes to minimize the risk of losing key skill players. Punting needs work, the kicker looked good, just wouldnt play him if that is their only one. The kicker could be their best weapon this year if they cant score at the goal line. The team appears to be physically weak which will be exploited in the 4th qtr. The defensive back #24 had an interception pulled out of his arms and turned into a TD. # 33 looked good. Pretty fast for size. They are missing a hard nosed running back. #2 dances too much waiting for the hole, he will not have that much time. excellent in the open field. #15 may be the hardest hitter. Did the basketball player play? If he did, didn't see the hype. Still doing the lets get lucky blitz. Offsides several times on the blitz and should have been called a couple of more times. Somebody tell Coach Quarles at Maryville to be gentle at the scrimmage, DB has 10 games without many cards to play.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh it just strikes me funny that someone from the Mighty D-B (I say that out of respect), is asking for mercy. I'm sure that whatever is wrong will be made right as the weeks progress and if and when you get knocked down you will get back up, dust yourselves off and keep moving forward.

DB watchdog is not from or for DB? Somebody needs to tell him.

Read his posts, he is anti D-B...that is his nickname, he is the self professed watchdog over D-B to make sure he keeps "them" in line...which is perfectly fine...but he is not a fan, nor a supporter...not from or for...ask him...

Okay . . . I thought it didn't look right. I don't see D-B asking for mercy, when over the years you guys have devoured most of your prey.

Good luck to you guys this upcoming season. Except of course on Nov. 3rd.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
