Mo East won the championship in 1969, the first year of the playoff system in Tennessee...they had only one loss that year, to Dobyns-Bennett...

 

And the Professor and Mary Ann were in color and added to the opening song...I'd say that one counts...

Won't be the best Morristown east team forever. They were State Champs in 1969. But maybe the best since then /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> They have athletes and a good coach.

 

AND, they are working as hard in the offseason as anybody. I am not saying more but there can't be anybody working harder than them. The offseason program Hatcher has put in place is crazy good. They have 70+ at every workout and they all bust it. I like the fact that some are saying West or Volunteer. It is a motivator to get no respect for a 9-4 season and return an All- state RB and 10 on D.

You have been busy. Farragut LBs will be solid, and blitzing. The spread will be a "sterling" addition. They will do a lot of both untill OL/DL get some experience. On the money with Science Hill and transfers. Billy Blount will have a GREAT defence this yr. The Owls could go very deep. Best Bearden team in maybe a decade. OR has a lot to prove. Are they still elite? IMO, no. Hope I'm wrong. Sevier lost too much.

Murville continues to roll, might be best MoEast team in....forever. Ryan and Co. at West will see a deep playoff run. Might be against Red Bank, then you know who, and we shall see if Burnette is better. Never underestimate Coach Woods. Don't see them losing in HD. If Jamie Wilson is healthy, Central could do more damage than a lot of folks think. Powell on the money. Halls, I just can't figure yet.

Lol thats funny, but when they won their state championship, was it before the schools split, or were they already split?

 

It was Morristown High School that won the State Championship. Morristown West didn't exist at that time. It would be awesome if they would combine back into 1 school here in Morristown again. It was solve a lot of problems IMHO. Think what kind of team a unified Morristown would have this year!

That would be a darn good team IMO. I'm not exactly sure what West is bringing back, but I know East will be stacked. How many players are returning for West? Will it be the same team we have seen the past couple seasons, or will they be better or worse?

West may not be as talented early in the year as they were last season because they have alot of holes to fill from graduation but the new guys will learn quickly. West does not rebuild, they reload. They may get off to a rough start but will be there in the end.

So right now it looks like the team to beat from Morristown will be East this year

      Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
