ruse?
Hey ruse?. Evan Webb from David Lipscomb is an outstanding outside linebacker who plays the "Stud" position in Lipscomb's 3-3 Stack Defense. He has the tools to be an excellent outside linebacker because he posesses both size and speed. He will be the next great linebacker in Lipscomb's run of recent great ones (ie Braden Binkley & Ben Lehning). Big Country. Yes he is. He played well in the championship. I was actually thinking of him, the Moneypenny, Tenpenny, and Zach Rogers guys when I was posting over on the 5-3A thread earlier. IMO, he will grow into a solid MLB prospect, and perhaps out of the OLB. Very good instincts, and obviously well coached. ruse?
footballisgreat
Jay Fullam/Safety/McCallie. Big Time player. Led team with over 100 tackles. Ran 2 kickoffs back for TDS. Defensive MVP in championship game. Don't know exact numbers but this kid can fly and will flat out hit you.
mlawson
Fullam of McCallie has the size, speed and work ethic to help lead his team. He ran a 4.52 40 the first day of camp, He is 6'1" 192lbs. and yes he hits like a truck
varybarry
I'm not too familiar with McCallie, but from what you guys are saying about him he can really play. I'll be sure to keep my eye out for him.
footballfantastic
Seth Emery 6'2 210 plays for Boyd Bucs. He made all region as a sophmore. He is looking great as a Junior LB and tailback this year.
TigerRun
You've got to add Tavares Jefferson from Ensworth High school to that list. He's put up some pretty incredible numbers as a TB but I've been told he could be the best CB prospect in the country for 2009. Tavarres has turned into one heck of a player over the past couple of years. Ensworth is a new school just starting up so it is kind of intresting where they are going to go with there season. But Tavarres is a major role in that team. He is just so slippery and quick. I've seen him turn runs that seem to look like it would be a loss but turns into an easy first down. He seems to have a mind set that it is nothing is impossible. He is a great rising back and will be noticed this year. Watch what could be the biggest game of the year, Ensworth @ MBA on October 5th (also on CSS). But T has been working alot at FS but seems to be built like a CB because of his ability to run and jump and hit so it will be intresting to see where he ends up this season. Also last season as a sophmore, he had 1 game with an 84 yard run a 50 yard run and a 54 yard run all for TD's. Soon as he sees an opening it is just off to the races. Eric Gordon though is the real deal. Hillsoboro actually scrimmages Ensworth at Ensworth August 10th so that would be a good game to watch. That will have the return of Hillsboro's QB Matt Arent Wr Jarett Blihovde LB Cody Blihovde and FB Marvin Hughes
ruse?
There was a nice piece on another site written about Jock Stinson, Fulton QB, class of 09. It's early, but with the whole recruiting cycle being pushed back further (South Carolina already has two 09 commits), Tennessee's talent pool growing wider and deeper, and Tennessee high school football not getting the respect it's due; it seemed like time to start a list. To the best of my knowledge, last year there were only two players that earned All State recognition during their Sophomore seasons. Both are already receiving a lot of attention from the big name schools, and sites like rivals, scout, etc. Eric Gordon who is a 5-11, 180 lb athlete out of Hillsboro is one. He really impressed this past weekend at Musical City Seven on Seven. Very quick, big time "playmaker", good hands, and the natural hip rotation that could make him a very attractive CB prospect. Zak Tait who is a 6-4, 295 lb OL/DL out of Knoxville Catholic. Made the All State team @ DT, but according to rivals, etc. is also being looked @ by Nebraska, Bama, ND, UT, ect. @ OG. 2009 could be the year of the WR in TN. Here they are as well as others. Plase add them if you know em. * Marlon Brown. 6-5, 200 lb. Harding Academy. 41 Receptions. 780 Yards. 8 TDs. * Corey Jordan. 6-1, 180 lb. Hillsboro. Gets to work with and against Eric Gordan which can't hurt. * Zach Rogers. 6-2, 170 lb. David Lipscomb. Smooth, athletic, & could be faster than brother Austin @ UT. * Nick Thomas. 6-0, 180 lb. Raleigh Egypt. Leaper, great body control, and balance. * Thad McHaney. 6-7, 210 lb. Brentwood Academy. Very impressive athlete. TE if he adds weight. Match-up problem, if not. * Cameron Mason. TE. 6-4,220 lb. Brentwood High. Nice hands, blocks well beyond his years. * Jamie Wilson. RB. 6-0, 195 lb. Knoxville Central. Fast, powerful. Cassen Jackson? * Wesley Tate. RB. 6-1, 180 lb. PJ II. Name sound familiar? * Will Gillchrist. QB. 6-2, 180 lb. Hardin County 1600 yards passing, and 17 TDs as a Soph. * Jock Stinson. QB. 6-1, 180 lb. Knoxville Fulton. 1700 yards passing, and 16 TDs as Soph. * Derrick Webb. LB. 6-1, 215 lb. Whitehaven. Instincts, speed, and "want to." * Cole Ticher. DE. 6-4, 225 lb. Brentwood High. Good feet, strenght, and leverage. * Austin Long. Briarcrest. 6-4, 275 lb. Nice frame, athletic. Like I said, add em if you know em. ruse? Kind of forgot about this thread. Some nice additions along the way seem to be the aforementioned Tavares Jefferson, RB @ Ensworth, Justin Smith and Marcus Englehardt DL's @ Maryville, and Sam Thompson, DB @ Alcoa. Does anyone know for sure yet if Marlon Brown, WR out of Harding Academy is going to focus on football or basketball yet? I would guess basketball, and if thats the case then Eric Gordon out of Hillsboro might wind up being the top 09 kid in state. The other candidate might be Zak Tait @ Knoxville Catholic. Video on rivals is impressive @ both OL & DL. Can anyone share regarding verbals that the guys listed might have, and if any of them are expecting written offers post September 1? Thanks. ruse? A name to add to this list would be Dominique Allen 5-11 255lb RB out of Henry County; rushed for over 1500yds as a sophomore and getting hard looks from Tennessee among others.
