Pictures make me glad that FCS plays them at FCS like always.

FCS as always? Alternates don't it? Or was that a playoff slap shot?

We just cant seem to beat that private school anymore. There's some great players over there. Always got GV out manned with talent. I guess GV will just have to play twice there this year also. Thats if they can just get into the playoffs. Dont sweat GV this year. They lost to much to replace. The heartbeat moved on. That FC line and 3 unstopable backs are going to make GV look like a Jr high team. I feel so sorry for the GV boys. After the horrible beating they took last year. So yall got it made, being the regional champions. Every team you play will be in absolute fear to play FC.

Did I cover it all? Oh yeah, your facilities make GVs look like a shabby cow-pasture. Without grass, stands, and most of the lights are out. What few lights GV has. I bet the scoreboard quits this year also. Did I tell you the hotdog wagon rusted through? The bathrooms burned down and the filming tower fell over. Think maybe FC folks would like to do some charity drives to help your poor neighbors? They cut all of the welfare checks here this summer. GV cant even afford air for the horn this year. The players are so devestated over all this they have lost spirt. It somethig dont change Gv will be lucky to win 2 games this year. Gv only has 16 players after everything fell apart. The rest quit. Poor ole GV. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Antwan, I saw Smith Co. today at thew passing camp at APSU and was very impressed with the way the Owls competed.

Yeah Sc did pretty good they let Hoptown beat them twice. The first game they were up by 2 tds and started playing the younger kids and ended up getting beat in the last seconds. Nobody there could really play with Pearl they were so much more athletic than everyone else.

It could be my highly advanced private school education, but i am sensing just a pinch of sarcasm was stirred into this post.. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

As for playing at FCS, it was a slight shot but not really. FCS and GVille have hooked up 6 times in the past four years, four of them at FCS. and with the way that Gordonsville is looking to be this year, i will take any FCS advantage that is there.

Oh and as for helping with the bleachers, have you seen FCS's? We have our own bleacher problems to worry about.

I didnt see much wrong with the homeside bleachers. Then I wasnt in them. The visitor bleachers need to be supersized for any playoffs. Be thankful your school didnt start out with the concrete. That is a real problem down the road when they crack and crumble. Its a real mess to clean up. The junk man wont take concrete. You cant get someone to clear it free for the scrap. Plus you have to regrade after removal. Looks like a real tough process without tearing down the fence. But they are working at it. Hopefully the ground will be flat by season start. If it dont happen. Maybe SC will loan us their field and we play Sat nite games for home games. What say SC? That should speed up yall kicking out the money for our bleachers. Yippe, free bleachers! Thanks again SC. You check on that Antwan?

MO$$$$,

I don't know about that. We let you guys stand on the home sidelines during the jamboree a few years back and it just wasn't right. We had to take a few of our alumni back behind the concession stand so they couldn't see it. It was also hard to comprehend the words "Go Big Blue" coming out from under that big black and gold press box. Just give me a yell and I'll help you steal bleachers from Crump Paris! You know I'm messin' with ya. You're welcome anytime...Tickets, $5.00, Burgers, $2.50 add .50 for cheese and T-shirts are $20.00.....Indoor practice facility....priceless!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
