As I said in previous '3A Championship' threads, gotta keep White House in the mix. Talent, Tradition, and Coaching. Thats what they got. Might be young, but they are good, I'm tellin' you. They can and will compete for the state crown. Someone out of the Knoxville area also; Fulton, Catholic, the usual, etc.. This WH is as good of a team since the '04 bunch that went 13-1, and they were friggin good. Hope everyone is wrapping up a successful preseason and good luck to all the teams as this season starts!

I don't know it seems to early to tell. jI think that the main thing about being a west TN football fan is you have two questions to ask yourself every time you start thinking about plyaoff runs...First are you good enough to beat the teams in your region and in the region you will face in the playoffs, and second....Even if we are that good Can we beat the East......And lately We just flat out haven't been good enough.....

 

I have trouble looking at a year and thinking its a good one if we go to the playoffs, but and up just losing to the normal suspect.. It gets old...Same goes for this year..Dyersburg is predicting a stellar year, but its all in vain if the lose to Covington or haywood in the quarters, or for that matter a Bolivar or Liscomb. Average is unacceptable in my book, I understand how hard it is but we have got to be tired of playing second fiddle in west TN...We have been living in a weird world when we brag about our old coach and no one seems to jump on the fact that the only times he got close to the gold ball, he either got slaughter in the Semi-finals or was polishing the ball for eventually winner.......No offense.....

 

I hope our TROJANS have a GREAT year, one that can go in the history books, and it would be nice to go back to my old school for whatever reason and see that gold ball in one of our trophy cases...

 

My pick is gion to be Fulton vs Dyersburg

      Yes region 1 is extremely weak but a # 5 seed out of region 2 has no business in the playoffs either.

      They've had some great talent over the years. They usually don't whip no one but can be tough to stop on offence.

      Could be a lot of reason from what I’ve seen so far.  The lights wouldn’t turn on at Smyrna last night and had to move games to Blackman could be a reason or maybe he is talking about how on some of the games on NFHS network the camera placement was absolutely asinine. ( had a camera set up right in front of a net and couldn’t see crap)

      If Gordonsville can manage getting through these next 2 games without using him it will be ideal. ER was the last team to not have to pitch their #1 till the state championship i believe. Worked out well for them but they also had one of the best 1A staffs of all time that year. Only allowed one run the whole tournament and it was in the 7th inning.

      And he’s not even their #1. Lights out performance. Gordonsville is in the drivers seat with their #1 arm available throughout the tournament.
