Courtside
there are many middle school programs that are really great, but when those kids get to high school for some reason they cannot win, what is the problem? they are still playing the same schools and players they played against in the 8th grade and won. Are there any high school programs that have a consistent, terrible middle school program? Is there a relationship between great middle school's and great high schools? There's not really a relationship between the two. Some kids may have matured faster in junior high than others. There's usually different coaches. Take Dekalb Co. for instance. For years, there middle school and Jr. Pro teams have been successful, but when they get to high school, it's a different story.

Well, if it does guarentee success White House should be really good the next 3 years. White House's sophmores and juniors did not lose a game in their 8th grade year in middle school. Thats one of the reasons hopes are so high this year.

croz6110
Case in point, My 8th grade year, we won 2 games. My senior year we won 8. Some middle schools don't get much practice time. I know G-ville's middle school only gets about an hour a day. When they get into high school they practice 3 hours. That can be a difference in a lot of high school and middle school programs. 6432
IMO success at the ms level means zip. Due to consolidation, budget restriction and travel restrictions very few middle schools play the caliber of competition, through no fault of their own, that high schools must face. This problem even trickles down to pee-wee leagues which might play teams from 3 communities for a "Super Bowl" and whose parents then feel their kids have proven themselves worthy of 5A high school success. No way. It is all about Jimmys and Joes and what have you done for me lately.

TigerGuy
in the case of our Marshall County Tiger's seniors...their 8th grade year they won conference, then their freshman year they went undefeated in their 7 or 8 games (includin a 62-20 victory over David Liscomb) and beat Mount Juliet in the bowl game...so only time will tell if our case holds strong

MIDDLE SCHOOL SUCCESS NEVER EQUALS TO SUCCESS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL!!!! Marshall Co. may have a great season in 2007 with a great group of players but I can promise you than any success that they do have won't be because "they won in middle school" or "they won as freshmen". FCSprideatUT
Where are all the crappy middle school teams? whenever a question is asked about a team that lost a good group of players, someone always says "the juniors and sophmores were undefeated, only lost one game, beat everyone, really good... ect in middle school." Just once i would like for a team to loose good players and hear " well this year seniors lost every game in middle school so i guess we will need to hope they got better." couga14
In middle school, the team with better athletes win 90% of the time. In high school, its usually the teams with more discipline and better coaching that wins.
