Nomatter who wins I hope neather side go's after the freshman, like Warlock has just done on the thread {freshman}.I just responded to get under his skin, because he is still smarting from the friday game and knows they may beat our freshman without DB's star player.Roll Tribe and I hope both teams come out safe next friday, have a safe trip to Kingsport and home to Elizabethton.

the rebuilding process at elizabethton is just getting started. not sure of the exact numbers but from what i hear DB is a little bigger school than Elizabethton. may give them a few advantages. i'm not looking for much from this game and don't believe the score will say much about either school or the kids playing for either school. good luck to both teams.

I'd say a bigger school .DB's around 2000 kids. Elizabethton is around 750 kids. I think some may be surpised at the final score.

Thats what I hate about playing these local teams. They always have this built in excuse if they lose. As you can see in the above post, now DB has to beat them by a wide margin or its not even considered a victory in their eyes. I hope that some day DB will only play 5A teams.

I am glad to see some tribe fans finally start rallying around this team. They will continue to get better and GC will continue to learn who to put where. I am excited about this team and everyone else should be to.

Yeah and we all are rallying around Fulmer too after an impressive win. They got better because they changed offensive schemes and played an easier team. It shouldnt take until the 5th game to figure out ditch running the shotgun every down and play more players. CS is an impressive runner, but his style is what was lacking for the offense. Taylor can run at em if given that style of offense with Lawson in front. #30 Wagner should get more chances WITH the first team offensive line. Playing the other guys is not finding a needle in a haystack. There have been a number of guys with equal talent that could rest some starters. Number 9 is an example. I honestly believe the record would be different if some other boys had been subbing and resting the guys going both ways. Dont bet the ranch GC will play many more kids if he gets up on the Cyclones. History shows its just not his style and never will be. He will shuffle some in the last few minutes but not until then. Enjoy HC because there are no more give me's.

I agree on the fullback. You need a Lawson type of player in front of you best running back,I said that before the season ever started. The best back on our team is 33.He may be playing at fullback, but he should be the tailback. None of the other backs run hard and hold on to the ball. They do one or the other.33{Taylor} is very fast as well.Let some of the other backs have some great runs against some lesser teams and go away from the pass.If this happens,we will be ''done '' come playoff time. If you want to talk running backs,I thought number 30 looked very good during the forth quarter.I don't know if he has been hurt or what , some body said they thought he was a junior or maybe even a senior.I had not seen him this year. That's what I've been talking about, when it comes to our special teams. We have kids that can run and hit,but we play the only names we can remember on every down.Let the kids that are good athletes and don't get to play,go in on special teams. Keep using your depth chart as we did at JC,but go deeper when the game is out of reach. What if a good lineman or 7,10,33,15,2,24 get hurt when the game is allready ours? Look at how good 30 ran the ball and tell me we don't have kids that can help.

I havenotseen the Sophmore class play much, but you are right, we have some very talented Juniors that never see any time. The #30 is a Senior and has not had a very good showing at all. He did run the ball very well, but did this on the 2nd or 3rd D. We do need to use some of these other kids on special teams and when the game is out of reach. Normally the staff gets other people in there but maybe the confidence is low.

Let's see, how to word this. The sophomore class is average IMO. But, there are some players there. I agree that the junior class has some talented players that don't see the field. Without the "star" as another poster put it, I wonder how good the freshman class really is. I think the kid will be another good high school player, but I'm not sold yet. Probably will excel as a LB or FB in a year. Not enough speed last time I saw him to play RB. Speaking of speed, I wish there was a better way to allow J.Sylvester to use his speed. Not really sure what that would be. Regardless, I personally believe that the DB staff is able to take an average group of talent and win games. They've done it in the past. The groups from the feeder schools become, how do you say it, the sum is greater than their parts. I guess there's some magic in those maroon jerseys.

I am also glad to see people rally around the kids. I don't agree with the TriCitiesSports that this is the #1 team in NET, but they are better than the record shows. Fierce schedule for an less that the norm Indian team. I'd say they are holding their own right now.

I agree with WACO, please don't start all the "you school is bigger than ours" crapola. That's tired and we've all heard it for years on hundreds of threads.

I disagree totally. DB has had a very potent passing attack (Burton, Sensabaugh, Throp) the last few years prior to '07 yet have been escorted out in the first round mainly by teams that have been able to run the ball and taken away the run from DB (as displayed in the goaline fiasco last year vs. WB). DB has been more successful when they can run to pass...not pass to run. In the playoffs if you can't run you are dead because the games get tighter and the teams are better. IMO

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
