scoreboard says 4-2 riverdale

Not really sure what happened. I saw that siegel's starting centermid brittany miller was not playing. Nor was she anywhere on the bench. Anyone know details? The entire lineup seemed to be switched around and no one seemed to have any intensity. I'm wondering if it was a difficult blow and the team wasn't prepared but I have no idea.

Bad news. Anna Grace Gerhart went down in the first 15 mins and looked to have hurt her other knee. She did not play for the rest of the game. Hope she is ok. Also, starting keeper sydney dewberry went down in the second half on a great save. But she also did not return to action for the stars. Freshman claire stampley went in for her.

I hope everything's ok with the stars. It looks like there are alot of problems going on right now. Hope they can fix them.

Smith's hat trick lifts Riverdale past Siegel, 4-2

Riverdale junior Becca Smith scored three goals to push the Lady Warriors past Siegel Wednesday night, 4-2, and secure the District 7-AAA regular season championship.

Smith scored in the first and fourth minutes of the second half after a goal from Lady Star senior Brittney Winn had given Siegel a 1-0 halftime lead.

Smith scored again in the 28th minute, and it ended up being an important insurance goal.

Siegel freshman Kayla Ernst scored late in the game to cut the lead to 3-2, but a stoppage-time goal from Lady Warrior sophomore Kirstin Williams secured the win.

It was Ali Arman's first regular season district title as Riverdale coach, and it earned the Lady Warriors a No. 1 seed in next week's district tournament.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
