FATHER RYAN VS MBA

MBA has easily manhandled Ryan every year but last, when they still won without a quarterback and key RB and every other possible position injuries. Last year Waddey, a RB, lined up at QB every play and would take a snap and either run left, right, or up the middle.

Back on topic to this years game, MBA will win by 10+. Their line is too strong on both sides and their defense won't allow more than 10 pts. Wise, Bartholomew, and Vinsang will put up points for MBA.

Last year ryan got screwed AT mba, go figure. The refs were awful and called everything on Ryan and nothing on MBA except one offsides pentaly that was just that obvious. But last year is over and that has nothing to do with this year.

You obviously have not seen Father Ryans line if you say MBA's is too strong. Both lines for Father Ryan are huge. The defensive line is huge and has quick and strong kids up front. Ryan's O line is also very big and all played last year so they have expirence.

Ryan wins by 7

The field at Greer is the poor man's field compared to the we-have-nothing-better-to-do-with-our-money 500k$ field MBA has. Its a great place to play a game, though. Should be plenty of seats, and the homeless guys on the visitors side really play a mind game on the coaches and players.

Statebound is right, Father Ryan got screwed over SO bad at last year's game, its pretty obvious Ryan should have won, but you move on for wrestling season right? MBA cant win there.

And no, if you think MBA is stronger or more athletic, then you are a terribad sports analyst.

ryan has also raised a lot of money to build a stadium, i think its just their contracts with neighbors that are keeping them from doing it.

I keep hearing about how Ryan got screwed over last year as far as the officiating is concerned. What exactly happened in the game. What were these obvious calls? If they were not obvious then are Ryan fans just looking for an excuse?

One play, we scored, and about 5 seconds after the touchdown, the ref through a flag. Holding...

LONG after the TD was scored. What ######## is that, I ask you? Witnesses?

You sound like a little child with all of this crying about a touchdown that was called back. That was last season and you need to forget about last season and play this years game. Every team has some type of adversity in each game and you must be a focused team to win that type of game. Could it be that MBA just had a better team last season?

I'm sure the FR crowd will conveniently overlook the fact that when MBA appeared to have iced the game with a late, 4th quarter first down run on 3rd and short, it too was called back for a phantom holding call, sending MBA to 3rd and 10+. They didn't convert and had to punt the ball back to Ryan, giving them a final shot to win the game...Ryan moved it a bit but was picked off as MBA preserved the win.

Ryan can put the new stadium on the exact spot the field is now, or some other location on campus tomorrow if they choose. There is no longer any obstacle from the neighbors. Other debts must be paid first, before more debt is taken on. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
