Don't know about the ER/HC game.... McEwen played Jo Byrns last night and came away with a big win by around 20... It was the best half of ball I have seen them play all year long...physical, smart with the ball, and fundamentals... the second half wasn't to great though... they got caught up in what JBS was trying to make them do... I don't know why they didn't just come out of the gate and sit on the ball though, they were up like 25... It's tournament time and I don't care how much you are up, you do not give the other team a chance to get back in it... It seemed like the entire 1st half all JBS was trying to do was run a flex cut underneath and get it inside, can't understand why they didn't change it up when it wasn't working... I think McEwen will have a decent chance at beating NCS, the first two games NCS beat McEwen by around 10... McEwen has a good a shot at beating them NCS in the semis of the district as anyone does in the region.... NCS has never played at Hillwood....NCS relies on 3 so much this year, and going into a different, bigger gym may affect how they shoot the trey... Sometimes a new environment can affect how a player plays in it...(Example playing at a 1000 seat gym all season long and them making it to the state tourney... their is no wall 10ft behind the backboard, affecting the depth perception the farther you move out...) It is key that McEwen gets out early and sets the tone for the game....if they can get a few easy baskets early on that would relax them, it could be a dangerous time for NCS if they are not hitting (which is a rarity).

CA advances to regionals with 1st round win against White House Heritage. CA had control of the game the whole 32 minutes of the game. Sam Porter and Malcom Smith were the sparks of the team. They play the winner of East Robertson and Houston County. Have they played their 1st roung game yet and does anyone know who won

East Robertson 58....Houston County 43

Scrapman, I'm sure I'll be with you soon, less stress and less misery. Good luck to your son.

Thanks Coach. As far as my son, I am very pleased with his accomplishments. He ended up around 14th in mid TN w/ 20.4 PPG and 2.7 3's. He gave 100% in almost every game and that is all I can ask for. I have told him I don't care what the score board say's as long as when the game is over he could walk off the court holding his head high knowing he gave it his all. I just hope they don't overlook him when they do the all district team. I believe his stat's are the highest in 10-A but I am pretty sure he won't get district MVP because of the lack of exposure and everyone loves the 3's (caden).

Good luck!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
