I`m worried about our friend the Yanker. Anyone seen him around? Hope his dad is alright.

I`m wondering how a wet field affects the 2 runningbacks. Does it help or hurt someone like Allen who is more of a power runningback or help or hurt Mann who is definitely a quick slashing runningback.

Allen proved last year to be very effective in the rain and mud. His running style is good for bad weather. If I were coaching Mann, from what I have heard about him, I would want a dry surface, so that he can cut and change directions. I'm sure he will still be good, but I bet he and his coach wish that it would be dry.

That would be understandable on NS part. NS Defensive Coaches may not mind the muck as bad as the Offensive Coaches. Actually not sure how many Coaches NS has, most Jackson schools only have a few. RW, in the rain and mud did you cut your offensive plays down or leave yourself open to run the same wether it was dry or wet?

Sometimes being quick to change to the right cleat can effect how you handle the conditions. Wasn't there a game last year or the year before where the visiting team forgot to bring a change of cleats?

Love to see Pats jump out with a couple of quick scores.

Just for fun...

Anyone care to guess how many yards Mann and Allen each get Friday night?

Allen 155

Mann 215

Alright VG, you changed it! You really think he will get over 200 yds rushing in the mud on us?!?!? Obviously he will be keyed on, but on top of that he will have to overcome the slop...

I am thinking:

Allen - 155

Mann - 90

if Mann gets 200+, HC will be in a dog fight. if Mann and Allen get about the same yardage, I like HC's chances since HC has more options - #3 will get his yardage (actually I think #3 and #34 are about equal in yardage for the year) and #22 and #20 can break away. looks like a good game.

My prediction - the homer i am:

Mann 125

Allen 125

Teague 125

I'll take that.

GO BIG RED!

In weather that was really awful, we would limit ourselves offensively. We tried to do what was safest, and most fundamental to our offense, but we were willing to run whatever we had to, in order to win the game. Most coaches that I know, do not like extremely poor weather conditions.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
