Did DL win?

were you at that game? everyone who was there knows DL won on the putback. You'd be lying to say they didnt. CPA is full of themselves and is def not good enough to win state i dont know how they havent realized that yet. they could if z played hard but he is very lazy in my opinion.

okay let's not go that far. As much as I hate CPA I dont think they're fans were that classless, maybe dumb but not classless. but I am ecstatic that CPA will have to pay that fine for rushing the court.

Oh and whoever earlier in the thread said that Petersen was a great player, he had a horrid game tonight. I dont think he took one shot (maybe that's why he has such a great shooting %). I think he got burned about 4 or 5 times. Lipscomb outcoached and outplayed CPA tonight and truly deserved that win.

Peterson went out in the second quarter with an injury and didnt return.

I didn't see Z's goaltending on Simpson's putback, but what I did see was the classlessness of CPA's fans and players.

Each team's cheerleader's were competing against the other squad on each timeout or quarter change. It was fun to watch each section storm in applause after each stunt... but then a CPA father ran out on the court and slid on his stomach and posed. It was completely disgraceful. The Tournament coordinator and police attempted to find the man but failed because he hid in with the other CPA fans. That's just what I'd want to show as a parent, how to do something stupid and not get caught, what a great role model.

CPA has a team full of great players, no doubt. But you don't need to yank out your jersey and yell and pound your chest when you win... even in a game of that magnitude and under those circumstances. Be classy, show respect for the other team, they pushed you to the edge and you narrowly escaped. It was a great win, but a great game for both teams.

Nonetheless, it was the second greatest basketball game I had ever seen and I'm glad I made it out there to witness it.

Hats off to Lipscomb for a great game plan, excellent play, and for CPA hanging tough when they had to.

Lipscomb did exactly what they should have done to have a chance to win (spread the court against the man-to-man), and CPA (after the 1st half) did what they should have done to win (stay back in the zone and let Lipscomb run the clock).

In the first half, Lipscomb killed the CPA defenders one-on-one in the spread and only shot about 3 shots that weren't driving layups. It worked. They pulled Z away from the basket defensively and won off the dribble. They shot 2 threes in the first half and made one.

At the end of the first when CPA got the lead, and in the 2nd half, CPA refused to play man and let Lipscomb spread the court. So they played zone and Lipscomb held the ball. I don't fault either team for doing what they needed to do to have the best chance to win.

Lipscomb missed an easy put-back layup in regulation that would have won the game.

In the 1st OT, Lipscomb went up 6 and appeared to have it won, but CPA fought back.

Z made a good block in the 2nd OT (IT WAS NOT A GOALTEND) on the last shot (a great play run by Lipscomb to get the open look).

In the 3rd OT, CPA made their freethrows, got a couple of steals, and played tough in the zone.

As a CPA fan, I didn't like the CPA's student section's chant at the end of the game, but Lipscomb probably would have dome something similar if they had won. The atmosphere was VERY competitive, and not just on the floor.

Good luck to both teams in the Region. They very likely may meet again in the finals.

DL did have a great game plan. Only they were unable to execute it. They held the ball for last shot in our 4 qtrs and two OT's but failed to make one shot. I think they would have been better off getting in a rhythm and shooting the threes they have been hitting for the past two games.

The ref's-what can you say-they were consistent for both teams.

How dare fans get into the game... there were students that were not cheerleaders doing the flips too. It was a great atmosphere. Who cares if he did something completely stupid, seemed pretty cool to me.

I have to say that I loved the passion of the fans both CPA and DL but I thought that Mr. blabla who slid on the court was very idiotic. That WAS classless. Or maybe just stupid and not funny. The CPA fans weren't classless. That one fan was.

I disagree, any game that is a shootout, CPA will win. They are just too good to run and gun with. DL played how they had to play to win, and with the exception of about 5 shots at the end of regulation and the OTs they executed their gameplan.

The 5-man spread worked brilliantly against the man, and once CPA went into the zone I thought I saw Glenn Tackett on the sideline over there...

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
