Everybody should chill out about running up the score. Wanna know about running up the score check this out. Georgia Tech was coached by John Hiesman ( same guy the trophy is named after). I read somewhere about 10 years ago that Hiesman told hs team at halftime "we can't let up on these guys becuase you never know what they might have up their sleeve". UC, DC, Bolivar, and Liberty...they have all had some very lopsided victories over the years. I've seen third stringers crush other teams...what do you do tell them not to play.

The October 7, 1916, American football game between the Georgia Tech Engineers and the Cumberland College Bulldogs (now Cumberland University) was the most-lopsided game in the history of college football. Georgia Tech won, 222??“0.

Cumberland 0 0 0 0 0

Georgia Tech 63 63 54 42 222

Team Rushing Passing Kicking Turnovers

Cumberland 27 attempts, ??“42 yards (0 TD) 2??“18, 14 yards, 0 TD, 6 INT 0??“0 FG, 0??“0 XP 15 (6 INT, 9 fumbles)

Georgia Tech 28 attempts, 440 yards (20 TD) 0??“0, 0 TD, 0 INT 0??“0 FG, 30??“32

Now that might truly be running up the score /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Like I said in a previous post you were going to tell me what you just told me: "They couldn't break the pressure so that is why they were down by that much!!"

There comes a point when sportsmanship falls into place. That is WAY BEFORE the game get's to be a 50 point game. Obviously DC is lacking a little something in the sportsmanship department. Every things good in Dyer Co. right now and for the next couple of years but once you get back to where you guys were CJ's Freshman year we don't want to hear about the score getting ran up! It's great now but there's that old saying "whatever goes around comes around."

We've had the score ran up on us plenty in years past... So I guess you could say what went around came around! 05-06 season Gibson Co. put up a big win on DC! Considering it wasn't no where near the 54 but it was still in the 20s! Not to even mention some scores like Dyersburg winning 75-34... and in the 04-05 season Union City 80-40... I agree what goes around comes around!

Obion's girls coach's behavior kinda rubbed me the wrong way when they played at Dyer County /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ......he was upset for many of the same reasons you stated about McCord BUT he had to be escorted off the court by police.Covington's coach blew a gasket ((security guards and police)), BTW's flipped a lady off in the stands.....all this rubbed me the wrong way. McCord is very well liked around here...because he truly wants what is best for the players in the long run. Everytime I have ever spoken to him he has been nothing but complimentary about his team. He is obviously a good coach from looking at his record pre-DC. Guy who started the thread HAS STILL never answered the question of where he is from. Success breeds hatred......that my friends is the truth. IF DC had 2 losing seasons in a row this topic WOULD have never been brought up. I mean give me a break....course it wouldn't have.

First of all GC, your right, the situation was exactly the same as the GC/DC game and was it was VERY unsportsmanlike to leave your starters in to only try to reach the 100 point mark because like it or not, that's what happened. IF he wasn't trying to then why would he and his bench go bananas when they hit a three to put themselves over the mark? That is my gripe with DC fans and personnel. I tried to stay out of the equation but I completely agree with the statements made by GC and completely disagree with those of adsmom. You say your a fan of any athlete competing from any school, but I disagree. You can try to defend your statements but what you don't understand is that what your Coach would try to do to less talented teams was just plain wrong and unsportsmanlike. He didn't need to have CJ in the game at that point being up by so much. And if the same thing had happened the game before against Dyersburg, wouldn't that tell Coach McCord that maybe he shouldn't have his top players out their still. You can play the victims in all these situations like you all continue to do or you can face the facts and think...

"Hey! We seem to be the common denominator in all these situations, maybe they SHOULDN'T BE OUT THERE!" Purple brought up a good point about Sisco taking out his starters at half even when scouts were there for MJ Brown. THAT'S sportsmanship and not running up the score on less talented teams that, admittingly couldn't stop your offensive attack and had shown that throughout the game.

As to the Coach Suiter situation. Here's my somewhat biased view coming out but I'm going to try and be as fence-riding as I can. He did nothing different than MOST any other coach would have done. You know, take up for his player when a wrong had been done to them. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> The first technical was justified I agree he went bazerk over a blown call, not one that was actually called. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> They second one was called by an official from ACROSS the floor that wasn't even arguing with Coach Suiter. The cop coming out on the floor was uncalled for IMO, he was leaving in a decent amount of time and not impeding the gameplay any more than any other coach would /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> The cop really had no need to help remove him but I digress.

You know, I went into this to try and shed light on an outsiders' opinion that, in all honesty, didn't really have one of DC fans, negative or positive. But this situation really proved to me all these assumptions that people like ready4boro makes, GC makes, etc. Sure, this thread being started was completely stupid and uncalled for. I think I proved that with being the first to reply to this thread with what I said, just go back and look at it. But GC makes a good point, after a few years when you all are back at the level you were at Crittendon's freshman year and Coach McCord started his free agency market /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />, hopefully you won't be on here saying the same things you have all season.

Like I said I had tried to stay out of this whole mess the entire year, but all this has been nonsense.

Puleeeeze...you "tried real hard to stay out of it". You must not have much self control. I remember years ago...talking years now....when Whitby played, they could be beating the bejeezus out of a team BUT he was left in to drive up his scoring percentage. Lots of coaches out there that I don't like , but I respect cause they can get it done. Funny how some of the people whine about McCord...but how more than one school has offered him a job to lure him away from DC. Sure we will have years were we go through rebuilding...it happens. Funny to me how ready4boro won't answer the question of where he is from. Oh yeah...I could care less if you agree with me or not /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

UC, DC, Bolivar, and Liberty...they have all had some very lopsided victories over the years. I've seen third stringers crush other teams...what do you do tell them not to play. People should just let it go..the season is over.Remeber UC from 2006/2007.Look at some of those scores and even some from this season. You can say DC runs up the score if you want but you would also have to apply the same standard to UC. The season is over.....Oh and everyone said the same thing about Liberty the two years they won it all....Seems like all these teams have something in common and that is that they all know how to put the ball in the basket at alot higher rate than anybody else /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

UC 2006/2007

at Halls D W 89-49

Dresden D W 119-79

Jan. 26 Gleason D W 102-48

Jan. 30 Peabody D W 119-76

Feb. 6 South Fulton D W 101-45

Big Sandy N R-7A at Union City W 119-68

UC 2007/2008 the year of the mercy rule..These 30+ wins would have been 40 to 50 last season.

Dresden D W 79-45

South Fulton D W 92-48

Jan. 15 Halls D W 93-53

Greenfield D W 90-43

Gleason D W 82-29

at Peabody D W 95-55

Bradford N D-14A at Union City W 80-40

Good point...Them boys from TATER TOWN put up a heckuva fight but just couldn't pull it out in the end. I think Sisco coached at Gleason before UC. That's most likey the reason he held back /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Yeah you are right there was some lopsided games. but like I said before don't compare DC to the other because UC Bolivar an liberty have won gold balls. They also play in stronger districts too.
