#1 Wayne Co.- the youngsters have grown up and will take the crown this year behind the arm of T Rice, and with the mix of a hard running tb. The MTP vs WC will be for the #1 spot 10pt favorite for the wildcats, maybe one of the top contenders in the western side of the bracket come nov.

#2 MTP- cant count out what walt smith has done down there, he will find something that works for a sucessful season but in the end not quiet enough 9-1 or 8-2

#3 Collinwood- if the trojans could have a little sucess making the short passes so they are no so 1 dimensional they could really stirr up some things, the platooning thing I dont think is gonna work, the trojans will give some scares this fall though

#4 Huntland & Moore co pretty even a toss up imo

the rest will fight it out

THATS JUST MY TAKE ON THINGS good luck to all

Glad you gave your reasons. That is what I was asking a couple of pages ago, why? I don't agree with you but at least I know why you pick them.

I have always thought to be the champs you have to beat the champs. Mt Pleasant is the champs right now and someone will have to beat the to take over that designation. I think Wayne Co will be really good this year and could beat the tigers. I also think Huntland could be a sleeper in this region. They always play hard and people should not be surprised if they pull off an upset or two this year.

I agree 100% with you about to be the champs you have to beat the champs. All the good ol folks in WC are counting down the days MTP has left on their run. I will say you all have had a good run but I think WC is in position now to make a new run. WC will be very strong this year due to several starters on the OL & DL being back (C-Mac, Horton, Morgan, Stricklin, Garrett, Bowling, Teftaller and a few others.) our RBs are mainly JRs (Grahm, Crews, Warren and SOPH Bevis) and look out for TE/WRs (Allen, Bacci, Kelly,Keating, and Freshman A. Rice). QB is in great hands with Soph T. Rice and the Defense should be outstanding with a lot of speed and pop. There should be several young players make a move for playing time on special teams and subs.

I'm looking for a big year GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what about moore county? they did beat the champs...does that make them the champ?

.

Just because they beat the champs does mean they are the champs. I think they finished 4th in the region, no I am right about that. Region championship trophy is in the Jungle.

Moore County had a very good team last year but they really benefited from Mt. Pleasants schedule. They were lucky to have caught us just after playing tough games against Wayne County and Collinwood. It happens again this year but we won't be caught off guard this time.

Excuse? I made none. Moore County had a very good football team. They suprised us and beat us. They won't be a suprise team this year. They have a rich history in football but had been down. After getting beat badly(27-40)by WC and in a tough game(13-14) byCollinwood, Moore County came into MP and played a good game. MP had little reason to worry before the game because MP had just beaten WC decisively(43-22) and Collinwood in a tough game. Basically we let our guard down and got beat. Hopefully the kids will remember this and not let it happen again.

Oh! Thanks to one of the MC ladies that complained about paying to get into the playday. She said we could win when we came over to MC this year because we charged to get into a scrimmage. We appreciate that and will take it.

I'm sure she didn't know but didn't stick around to find out. Proceeds were split among all the teams that attended. All teams got at least $87 and some change just for coming and playing one game, multiply by 2 for 2 games. Not a bad payday for a scrimmage or 2, and we did all the work.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
