It was reported in todays local paper that Coach Real was leaving Dyersburg after 1 year and going to Covington..It said he turned in his resigination effective immediately..It also said it wasn't a total surprise..anyway..I hadn't heard anything and didn't know Covington had an opening?Where is the coach from last year going?

Does anyone know who Dyersburg will go after for this position? Doesnt Dyer County have three young assistants? Might be good to stay at home with anyone of those guys since they've been use to winning. They may could provide the program with stability and a winning tradition. Is this considered a good job?

I assume it will not be the woman running the show at the Union Camp yesterday? Schedule said it was a Varsity game, yet I do not know enough about them to know. Looked really young.

 

I hope I am not offending anyone's wife or mother here....and I know it is just camp, yet the coach's box is not the black line around the entire gym floor : )

I'm pretty sure the woman you speak of is Coach Kim Decker....She's the Guys Freshman coach there and was OC's girls coach for a long time back in the 90s and early 2000s.....

 

Good luck to Dyersburg in finding a coach...

Probably was.......very vocal....lots of hugs?

 

Used to play ball with a guy named Paul Decker (baseball, early '80's). Think he was from up that way?

If I remember correctly.......I played with Paul @ Jackson State in early '80's. I'm old, so it's a little fuzzy.

I may have it all confused.....but I think I remember him pitching...maybe from Union City?

Every once in a while a name comes up and I know I know them somehow.....yet, well you know what they say....the mind is the first to go!

He was my coach in high school....Great guy and motivator.....Im pretty sure you're thinking of the same guy though

Haha, know the feeling. I played/graduated from HS with Paul at OCCHS. Played SS, not a pitcher. He would be the first to tell you that his fastball wouldn't break paper. He would be smart to tell you that Kim (his wife) is the athlete in the family!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

      Same with Eisfelder from Providence not even getting a look in DII 1A.   But to me the biggest head scratcher is Collins from Lookout Valley. He wasn't even voted the best pitcher or player on his own team, a team that lost like 20 baseball games. Mind blowing.

      I havent kept up with Keeton since he went to Oakland, so hearing he is in a BOE role now, that may trump him coming back.  Rennard on the other hand. That dude is a Man Builder! And he was cut loose this spring from Scotts Hill. Heard him in a interview a few months back and he inspired me. He needs to be back home in the Purple & Gold, regardless of if he is HC or not or even if he doesnt coach at all, his presences will improve the environment. But Again, I have no clue if he would even be interested.
