Mount Juliet vs Beech

If MJ will play like they are capable of playing minus the untimely turnovers, I think they have a good shot. Their defense held strong against Kenwood, and the offense seems to be meshing better as the year progresses. Correct the mental mistakes and this could be their retribution for that crushing Central loss to open the season...

Beech in almost a clock runner!

WOW! You could be right. It depends on which MJ team shows up. The solid well coached team or the undisciplined mistaked filled team. Like I've been saying for several weeks. MJ has to get a fast start out of the gate and cut down on the costly penalties or it could very well be a blow out. If MJ scores the first TD of the game they are more than capable of pulling off the upset. Go Bears!

Final score Beech 54 Mt. Juliet 38

Mt. Juliet scores 21 points in the 4th quarter against mostly 2nd teamers to cut into the Beech lead. Gurcheik looks to be the real deal. Moves well and has a heck of an arm. Future looks good for the Golden Bears.

Beech first teamers scored just about every possession, especially in the first half, and took advantage of some MJ turnovers (the opening kickoff and the fumbled kick off that was returned for a touchdown later in the game). Defense looked like they had some trouble at times giving up some big yardage plays, but made the stops when they had to, especially the goal line stand to give up the field goal instead of the td.

Overall, exciting game to watch. Good luck to the Bears as they complete the regular season and head into the playoffs.

Beech, maintain your focus and don't overlook the last two games. You've worked too hard to have a let down now. Keep working on getting better and look to hit your peak during the playoff run.
