Congrats Owls-

After the Maplewood loss and all the crying on the board I wondered how good a team you had. Looks pretty strong. Where are all the crying owls now and the ones bad mouthing your coach.

Again good luck in making to the State Championship game.

Region 2 needs to get another team in that State game. I spent Friday night educating some former Gallatin players on the owls and Admirals. It was funny that they had not heard of either school.

Yes, I know it was Gallatin. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

This is my 3rd year watching this regions 5 football and the talent is not even close to what I saw while watching Reg 1 & 2. I hope you or Farragut can get past the Reg 4 shools. They seam to stop Reg 1or2 every year.

rigger,

Very nice of you to say that. A lot of people have stepped up since Maplewood. That loss pretty much changed the Owls season for the better (and Maplewood's too for the better, funny how playing good teams will do that for you.)

The offensive line definitely stepped up since then, and Brady Reed has stepped up too. He has been making good decisions with the ball since that game and I haven't heard one peep about that. He has done a very good job of managing the game and not making mistakes. If the Owls make it to the Boro, hope to see you there. And you too, Sarge.

The owls will get SEVIER CO. in the first round,as long as they beat Soddy Daisy....which,I think they will,BIG TIME!!! I don't know how many the owls will score, but the trojans will not score alot,if any. DEFENSE will be all over parrot and/or hubbard.

if campbell co wins over karns they will be the 4th seed, they own the tie breaker over sevier co and sevier is open this week so their fate lies in the hands of karns a whopping 1-8 record. the owls will more than likely play campbell co first round after they whip soddy of course on halloween!

I have found that many of my fellow SD posters have decided not to post this week /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ....Oh well. From what I have read from the confident Owl fans is Ooltewah by at least 30+. I find that amusing and you are probably correct. So I would think that every Owl fan needs not even show up at the game cause it will be such a rout. Go to your H'ween parties...skip the game and prepare for the play-offs.

You mean SD is not going to be at the Nest Friday. Because The Nest will be rocking come Friday Night this game is for the #1 seed and the Region Championship.. I think need to go back and check your candy bag. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

No I mean Ooltewah fans.....It's apparent that you guys think you have it in the bag. So go to your H'ween parties, theirs no reason for Ooltewah fans to show up for the game. Remember, it's in the bag. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Bless your soul MVM, you are the only true Soddy fan. I hope you all have more show up on Friday, after all... we brought bus loads to Soddy last year.

Owls 35

SD 3

Go Owls!!!

What does SD have besides a good QB and receivers? How are their lines both O and D? If the Trojans don't have a good O Line than the QB will not have time to throw, just like the Farragut game. I have been wrong on scores so many times, I will give the Owls the same advice I have given them the last three weeks. Focus on this game and this game only and leave it all on the field and the scores will take care of itself.

BTW MVM senior night and cross county rivals will mean the nest will be rocking come Friday. I hope the Trojans have no tricks to spoil our treat.

Go Owls

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
