We might have a speed advantage, but from the sound of that #78, you all have some size up front. If you run it up the gut, it will be tough for us to stop, as it negates our speed.

I'll be there, for sure.

Our offensive line has been a huge surprise this year. While Walker is large the other guys do a very good job as well. I think our center has only had maybe 4 bad snaps all year and the other guys really block well downfield. Gallatin got a new offensive line coach this year and it has made a world of difference. Randall Silcox played on the 92' Gallatin state championship team and he brought a lot of good fundamental teachings when he came back to Gallatin. Smyrna and Hendersonville have been the only lines that have had any success on Gallatin this year. Hville and Gallatin played very close but Smyrna had a huge size advantage on the defensive front and they have some linebackers that could really run to the ball.

Gallatin just has to limit the big play which we have given up sometimes this year.

I totally agree with ya about giving up the the big plays but turn-overs got us in the hendersonville game...Its time for the wave to come out and play a complete game...Not just one half of football...I hope this is the week we play both halves...We can't afford to come out and spot this Centenial team 3 scores like we did against Hendersonville, Lebanon, and Hunters lane....One thing you can say about the 2008 wave is there is no quit in this team and play with a lot of heart....We need to controll the clock friday night and keep all that speed of centenial on the sidelines...

Centennial will come out fired up just because no one on this team has everyplayed in the playoffs. Plus Chaz Scales isnt just a fast quarterback like everyone in the state, he has great weapons around him, a 4.3 4.4 fourty, and a pretty big o line. Ive heard nothing but how Galatins O line and 78 is good. Well we have a number 78 in jay baines, whom is 6'2 300, benchs close to 400 pounds and got all region last year as a junior. Plus everyone on the oline is close to 6'2 over 250 except the center. I see this being a great matchup, and a very fun game to watch.

That is a huge line. They must have all gained 30+lbs from when Murphy Fair was printed and then lost weight on game films. From what I hear, ya'll have a couple of big guys and we have a couple of big guys otherwise we are very similar.

Centennial is averaging 29 points a game and giving up 23.

The Cougars spread the ball around very well with no less than 8 players having caught a pass this year. Jacob Estrada and Tim Harris look real consistant on the recieving core. Of course the big man in Drew Kelly looks like the main target. Another big concern is Tommy Kemp out of the backfield. Throwing to a runningback is always hard to cover in highschool ball.

I find this most impressive about Centennial, the number of plays over 20 yards for scores. According to the box scores, geez!! That is highly impressive. Have ya'll even had a 10 play drive this year? Good night, talk about a quick strike offense.

Centennial had some really long drives against Siegel (They had the ball for drives of 8 minutes at a time and kept the rock the whole second half.) and a couple against Brentwood early in the season. Don't get me wrong though. Centennial is a big play offense. They run certain plays to get you to make that one mistake so they can take advantage. Most teams cannot stop their big play capabilities. They just have to keep them at a minimum. Good luck to both teams.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
