Alcoa vs Milan

I think come Friday our scheduling helps us more than Milan. We have played some really tuff teams with a lot of versatility. Maryville does a little bit of every thing and so does CAK. Loudon was physical but ran a lot of spread. Marion ran the veer with some spread as well. Whitehouse well I actually don't remember that game. It rained so hard I was more worried about keeping warm and dry, Instead of what kind of offense they ran. These games are the ones that have helped prepare Alcoa for this championship game. This gives us a edge on Milan. They have seen know one like us. It could possible shock them. We will only find out come Friday. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />

You are right. We will find out, and I do believe that someone is going to be shocked.

BCSportsfan,

I also dont appreciate you using that pic of tornado damage, but I will try to give you the benefit of the doubt on this. My daughter was nearly killed in that twister. In fact, some people did die that night when the twister first touched down before it got to Union University. My daughter had glass flying into a blow up raft that they had put over them, and she saw the ceiling separate from the roof...saw the night sky from her bathroom! Her car was upside down, on top of another car. That same tornado left Union U. in shambles with many of the students hurt...some severely, and then it ripped thru a neighborhood and a nursing home. Many people were hurt bad, and their homes were destroyed. So, surely you didnt mean to do that.

So, like Hufstedler, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, instead of calling you an inconsiderate jerk who has the heart of a mean cottonmouth and the mouth of an idiot which I was tempted to do. No, I wont call you that, and I wont say that to you, because I will accept that you just somehow picked the devastation of Union U. to post to Milan fans who live within 20 miles of this incident.

Wow, I thought this post was about a football game! It has quickly turned into Jerry Springer live. Sad.

You guys might want to start Googling "How to stop a Tornado" and pass it on to the boys in purple.

Every Milan fan should get one. Also practice the Heimlich Maneuver for choking on crow, and chew your words well. Maybe bring some burn cream for when Toney blows by the defense. All of this and more may be available in the next Deluxe Milan Survival kit. Rumor is it comes complete with excuses, a pin the blame on the ref game, and a raft to navigate the river of tears.

I won't be shocked. I think Milan is a very good team but they have not played near the schedule as Alcoa. I believe Milan played some good teams. YEAH! Very good teams. NO! I say Maryville, Whitehouse,Marion & CAK were as good as any team you guys played all year. Goodpasture is very close to 2 of those schools but who else? That's my only point but your right. we will find out. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Oh for you die hard Milan fans I talked to a local legend from Milan tonight. He's predicting a bulldog win but I had to remind him who they were playing. Here's a little clue- he played from 87-89 and was all state. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Good luck and have a safe trip Milan. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />

My uncle played basketball and baseball at Union University in the late 60'. He was an all-american in bb and bb.

If you order now, they will even throw in a PSP, just so Milan's offense will have something to do on the sidelines.

I give you the edge in schedule strength. No one doubts that, but we played some good teams. It isn't very often that a 2A team in any part of the state plays a team that throws the ball 40+ times a game. Milan did it in back to back weeks. I don't care who you are, the scout team can not duplicate that kind of a team. USJ was a top 5 team, as was Camden. JCS started out with problems, but got them corrected. They are no push over. In my opinion the only reason your schedule is tougher than ours is because of White House and Maryville. The rest of your schedule is very comparable to ours. None of that means much now. We are both here and neither will be afraid of the other.

No offense to the other 2A teams you mentioned, but I feel like Milan is better than those teams. Not worried about being betther than White House and Maryville. They don't matter to us.

Both Camden and USJ was out of the second round of the playoffs. I'm sorry but those two teams would have finished third maybe fourth in our region. Your not going to understand anything I'm trying to say, until Friday. Then you will FINALLY UNDERSTAND. Good luck! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

And you're not gonna understand anything WE say until Friday night!

And then I predict the visitor sidelines at Floyd Stadium will look a little something like this....

I wonder why you passed up the first 200 images??

Also...since you seem to be the "King" of "facts"....if you had clicked on the photo, and looked at it you would have seen it was from Jackson.

All I'd like is a simple, "Yes I was wrong, It was a bad call to use that picture, I'm sorry if it offended anyone."....but that's about as likely as Alcoa beating Maryville! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

or about as much as Milan beating Alcoa /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

I realize this kind of violates a board rule but.... There is so much photoshopping and bantering back and forth on the other thread I could not find much conversation about the actual game. And, this is one of only 3 games taking place in this forum this week so there is not much board traffic. I find most of the photos in the other thread pretty funny but I would like to read the analytical posts without scrolling through 9 pages of photos and argument to find them.

As a Milan fan my biggest concern is the ability of our undersized line to block them up front. I was asked in the other thread what I thought about the TE situation with their Mr. Football. My opinion....I'm sure the O-line will be as it has all season. However if you start seeing Mr. Robinson in the backfield regularly I would expect Morris would move Postoak and Coleman accross and rotate them at TE. I think Avery will see most of the action at FB rather than Bledsoe. Avery is somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 lbs heavier than Chris. In our Offense, we like to kick the end with the FB so that will be an interesting matchup.

It's hard to get a feel for a game when you've never seen a team. But, after talking to a few players and seeing a little film I think I may have an idea. Sounds like both teams have a lot of similarities, run a lot of the same schemes. Both teams play with great physicality. I could be completely wrong here but I believe it will be a low scoring game. Mistakes will be magnified in such a game. Both teams can ill afford penalties and turnovers. Special teams will be huge.

Looking forward to friday.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Great to have Coach Peek back !
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
