I think the game will be decided in that game in how well Lipscombs offense does against the Goodpasture Defense. Goodpasture maybe has one the best defenses in the state any classification. If the cant score they cant win ... In the end i see that defense winning and Goodpasture prolly repeating this year.

i remember in either 96 or 96 or something like that when the cougars were down by a lot and the lipscomb coach still had his first team in and was trying to score with under a minute remaining. thats one...

I would not say that Lipscomb has always been a class act. In the 1994 Lipscomb was leading Goodpasture 28-0 and called time out on 4th down with :01 second left in the game. Of course Goodpasture had thier punt team in thier, Lipscomb meanwhile ran a fake punt. The reason i know this because i was on the field for Goodpasture at the time. We were told to fair catch the punt and go home. Obvisously had it not been for our return man the score would have been worse.

These two dont like each other and never will.

I predict Lipscomb 17 Goodpasture 16 Kicking advantage in this to Munstangs.

Going back to 1994, Mustangs did hold the lead with time running out. The Lipscomb punter was having trouble all night. Coach Mac told him not to kick but to just run some time out on the clock. He wasn't trying to score or show up Goodpasture--Why not ask Coach Martin what he was up to on the last two plays of the game last year?

Coach Mac has more class than any team, if he's up by enough that he knows he'll win he always puts his 2nd team in and if it still gets out of hand he tells the ref's to just call penalties, hes got a thing about going over 50 points. Coach Mac should be respected by all and last year goodpastuer was winning 14-7 all they had to do was down it and go home but they tried to put in for another school, Lipscomb's defense held strong still but GHS's coach showed he had no class in him what so ever

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
