Let's have fun and predict the top 10 in division 1 and the top 5 in division 2. Here are mine. At the end of February we can look back and see who was closest.

Hounddog, you seem to have an inside scoop on FRA that makes you think they're gonna be region champs and top 10 in the state ranks. What does their lineup look like this year that makes them so strong?

10. Kenwood-Anybody could be here.

9. Franklin-Should have some State placers.

8. Overton-They were young last year.

7. Bolton-They've got Brugal.

6. Science Hill-Dont know what they have.

5. East Ridge-4th at best.

4. Clarksville-I don't know if they are this good but they have been to the top recently, so I give them the edge.

3. Cleveland-Good but not there yet.

2. Soddy Daisy- Going to be very good.

1. Bradley Central-5 possible state champions, what else do I have to say?

Does anyone think that Region V will produce any good wrestling this year. Last year they let Smyrna win the region, hopefully they'll pick up the pace this year....

McCallie would dethrown them -- even if they are DII. Except, oh yea, the head coach at Bradley is to scared to wrestle them.

Dbltech....Where did you say Brentwood would finish. Be for real...Do they have some tranfers that we don't know about? Give me a break!

If I recall, Brentwood beat Franklin last year in the Region Duals and from what I gather not too many of Brentwood's wrestlers graduated. So that would lead me to believe that Brentwood will still be on top. I want to know why everyone is so gung-ho about Franklin. I know why I am but what about everyone else.

I saw a lot of tough, young wrestlers at Franklin last year and I know that they have been very active this off-season. They will be very tough and will beat Brentwood. No offense, but BW is rather weak.

Here is how the Regions went last year...

 

Round 1 - Brentwood beat Tullahoma

Franklin beat Smyrna - by 1 point, upset!

 

Round 2 - Brentwood beat Franklin - by 1 point, it could have gone either way. The athletes and coaches all know that either team could have gone on to the State Duals.

 

In region 5, it will be which team wants it the most, it could be a real "dog fight" during the regional duals.

It's pretty easy to predict Bradley as the top dawg. Guess when some Jed Clampett wannabe is giving the wrestlers 100 dollar bills in front of a TV camera, that is more than enough motivation. Hopefully the TSSAA will not allow this to continue, as this is an NCAA violation. Let us also hope that Jed and Jethro are not going to televise the state tourney again, although Bradley is an outstanding program, too many deserving athletes were ignored because they were not in black and gold singlets.
