Rocking Chair
I don't think it would be fair to compare this team to the teams in the late '70s early '80s. Those team where unreal from what I heard. Charles Mitchell was an unbelievable coach, I think it was said somewhere that He's the only coach to ever win a State title in Boys and Girls Basketball. Brent will have this program going for many years. They have 3 seniors back next year with two or three good sophomores that are only gonna get better. I think Sam Gibson coached 3 of the 4 championships that PC won in the late 70's. He was a good coach as well. Haven't seen the lady Bobcats play this year but Sam had a daughter that played on that team last year. I believe her name was Kayla. Does she still play for PC or did she go to Albany and play. Also congrats to coach Smith. I have said all along that Brent is a real good coach and last night he proved he belonged among the best. aqua777
Does this mean everyone is predicting a CSAS - Pickett County matchup? If so, who should win? I'm assuming Clarkrange and CSAS will win, but as evidenced by what happened last night, that obviously can change.

She wears #3 and plays guard. She is a good ball handler and outside threat for the Lady Cats.
Turnadouble
Upset of the YEAR, this is such a big win for these girls! PC girls have a lot of heart! Congratulations Lady Bobcats!
options86
Kinda the way they pulled your plug 5 times last year? It was a good win for PC without lowblowing JC. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I don't think you can say they pulled our plug, your season has to end to get your plug pulled. We played all of our games last year. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> KGM was right, several teams have been on their heels, it was a matter of time before someone got them when it counted. LA_81
Congrats to PC on the win. I guess Jim Brown will have to work on his "recruiting" for next year.
luvhoops
If you want to compare the past then by all means do so. Only Shelbyville stacks up with CR but that's not the point now is it. I did not mean to sound tacky, as you put it, but having watched JC in about 1/3 of their games this year they always looked the same. J. Brown got all he could out of this particular team and the inevitable happened tonight. PC is tough, has always played tough and hung close to CR in their meeting in Byrdstown. I was not at all shocked or even surprised that they beat JC and I thought they deserved it. They showed alot of heart and JC wasn't hungry for the win. Looking into the future, since we're time traveling, next year 7A will have more parity than at any time in recent history. CR, JC, CC, and PC will all have strong teams. This is from a post back on Dec 6 Pickett is no door mat either. I don't think it's that York has collapsed but rather that the competition has gotten stronger. I posted before the season started that 7AA would be more competitive than most people think and 7A is turning out that way as well so far. A team is not strong because they're A,AA, or AAA but more on coaching, hard work, and desire. Bottom line is in the upper cumberland you better have your A game every night. Congrats Lady Bobcats!! Good Luck to All!!!!!

She is a good ball handler and outside threat for the Lady Cats. Well I thought she did but I wasn't 100% sure. And I'm thinking she is just a junior this year, b/c I watched PC play several games last year and I remember someone saying that she was a soph. but I could be wrong. beafighter
First of all, I am a huge JC fan. Maybe this is just me and my opinion, but it seems to me that Coach Brown didn't have his team ready for some of the games that they have played. I just don't feel like he put into it this year compared to the past few years. That being said, I still think he is one of the top coaches in the State. It seemed that there might have been some blame game by the players and support, I know one of JC girls supporter got on here and called out the team, minus his player. That will cause a little trouble. Only a couple of girls on JC's team looked like they took it hard. Everyone else just shrugged it off a went on about there business. They will be back next year with all the returning talent. Good win for Pickett Co.
chsyaifan
The way it should be CR vs. PC in Region finals
jcofan 20
Congrats to PC on the win. I guess Jim Brown will have to work on his "recruiting" for next year. Funny know one talks about the girl from KY that Pickett Co. got this year or that Molly Heady moved to Clarkrange this year. These girls and Families move to better their chances of playing for a better team and getting a scholarship for college. The sooner everyone gets over the fact that players and their families don't get recruited the better off we will be. Congrats to Pickett Co. on a well deserved win. And as for Clarkrange, I hope that the team goes as far as possible but some of their fans that were having their own celebration because JC got put out, You are very CLASSLESS!
