MBA's enrollment last year was 1140 (according to the TSSAA website). Guess that averages out to about 285 boys per class.

 

 

The TSSAA estimates a coed enrollment for single sex schools. There were 469 boys in the high school last year. Typically, there are between 110 and 120 in a 7th grade class. There is a fair amount of attrition in the middle school. Another 10-15 boys typically join in the 9th grade class. Graduating classes are usually between 105 and 115.

They double the enrollment for non-coed schools so that equals 570, which means around 145 ish per class.

Soccerpro1, what exactly do you mean that "Potter had much better students at McCallie"...where are you going with this? On what basis do you make this statement?

 

 

 

I meant "Potter had much better students at McCallie". It seemed clear when I posted it originally. On the other hand, he's got better athletes at BA. Seems like a good trade if you want to be in the finals year end and year out.

He does have much better athletes at BA but he hasnt won one yet. How much longer will the BA faithful and money donors allow him to stick around without winning one?

Didn't he come in second to Potter's 2001 team and then Flatt came back the next year? They had 5 runnerup trophies in a row, so it gets confusing. Not knocking runnerup trophies in the most competitive division.

I'm not sure if Tom Moore was at BA for more than one year. He was a runner-up to Ricky Bowers, his classmate from MBA. Some pretty decent coaches came from the MBA class of '80, which produced those two and David Pack. Given that the class only had 75 graduates, that's an awfully high concentration of football knowledge in one place.

 

I was in the class of '79, which is not nearly as distinguished. We did produce one notary public though.

That was Coach Owen's third team in his second tenure at MBA. He had said early in the first year that MBA still had the talent to win, but that there was some work to be done to convince players that they could. By the '79 season, all his players had been with him since they were sophmores. That was a very talented class.
