BigDaddy_1
Justice Swett is the best freshman is the state. She's the starting point guard TN Team Pride 13 under Nationals runner up. She has started for this team for the last 5 years with a national championship under her belt. She played in the state championship game for Ensworth as an 8th grader. Haven't seen all the freshman coming in this season....but I would say Swett is one of the best in the state. Very good player with the potential to even get even better. Bri
You also have to add Olivia Jones from Riverdale. Olivia, Aryanna Gilbert, & Justice all played up with the Flight Navy team. Olivia & Aryanna in particular got A LOT of playing time since all of the Navy team's post players were hurt this spring & summer.
ChArGeR2
Elizabeth Masengil McMinn Central post and wing she is a great freshman player dont know much about where she played summer ball...but she plays like a senior she has great shot ability from outside and she is a beast down low...it wont be long before she starts making noise for the chargerettes...She also has a great team around her to help make her shine, so look for her and the chargerettes to make noise again... superfly14
abby clayton may be up there too. i believe was a teammate of aryanna gilbert on team pride. now they are teammates at Lawrence County. those 2 together could end up to be absolutely dominating by uh lets say their junior year. icecold06
Olivia Jones and Tyisha Petty have to be the best freshman duo in the midstate or pretty close to it. In a head to head battle last year in the 1st round of the Rutherford County tournament Oliva scored 35 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. No one talks about her stats in that game because Tyisha scored
PANTHER2331
I'm sorry but any youth team game that results in a player scoring 35 or 50 points isn't what youth basketball/exposure ball should be about.
Bigkid2
There are many good freshmen in the state this year. One to watch is Derica Wyatt from FRA. Excellent 3 point shooter, 5'9" guard. All District as an 8th grader on the 22-6 FRA team last year. She either led or was second in the district in 3 point shots last year. She will be one of the better ones (freshmen) this year. Swett is awesome and deserves all the press she will get.

They were just head and shoulders above the talent of the rest of the players. Its not like they were just hogging the ball and not trying to get other players involved its just how the game played out
Bri
I've not seen Tyesha play in a few years, but Olivia just goes hard every play. I would imagine alot of her points & rebounds that game came from offensive rebounds & put backs. She can also get the rebound & push the ball down court for the fast break. So when you have a player like that going against girls who don't play against the level she plays @ during the summer, there is going to be a disadvantage. Olivia, Justice, Aryanna, & Abby along with the rest of their AAU team were a tough group this summer. They played against Delano Deshields' daughter, Antonio Davis's daughter & Ken Griffey Jr's daughter in the AAU 13u national championship game & held their own. Deshields & Davis are top 10 in their class & Deshields rebounds @ the rim already. Antonio Davis was the coach of the team & wanted Olivia & Aryanna. The girls also played up as a team several tournaments @ 15u & won alot games. They also played against some of the top 2010 players in the country playing up with the other team. When you see them on the court in their high school games you'll see that experience. It will make the transition to high school ball pretty easy. Justice already has played in a state championship game. She played alot & played well. It wouldnt surprise me if she starts this year @ point guard as Carpenter is a natural 2 guard. The future of girls basketball in the state of TN looks very bright.
fourj
I have seen most of the girls listed on this site play for several years. Everything you hear is true, it may be the most talented group of freshman to play in the mid-state in a long time. You can really take your pick because they are all that good. The crazy part is there is even more girls to add to the list. Paige Parker is on the list and she will play with Justice on Ensworths team as a freshman. It will be an exciting four years.
