Smith Co. visits Gordonsville

Now croz, if you'd just take those blinders off for just a second, you'd see that its way more likely to be lopsided than really that close. Now before you get touchy, I fully realize I wear some blinders, too. Believe it or not, SC may just come over there with a chip on their shoulder, play some inspired football for a change versus the Tigers. Will the boo-birds come out early or does a mass exodus occur at halftime?? That's the big question.

Hey Croz I believe you had a post over on the DeKalb thread commenting on our team Defense. After this fridays game, make sure you get back with me and let me know how your Gordonsville Defense did against Smith Co..

 

Now dont forget, i am D1 and will be over on the DeKalb thread and the 8AA thread. Cant wait for the update.

After reading some of the posts on here my heart goes out to mr slimshady . I now understand his feelings for the black n gold much better I have a question for the owl faithful .....can someone help me put together a list of all the BIGTIME teams that smith co has beaten to give you all this confidence ???? ?????? ok hold up .. lets make it easier can someone name me JUST 1 bigtime team smith co has beaten ????? ?????? EVER ????? me either !!!!! GO BLUE

I have got to compliment Smith Co. a little here. I was trying to get some stats and results from Fridays games and went to the Smith County Football Website for one of the first times. I have to say that has got to be the best high school football website in the state, maybe the country. Enjoyed the pictures of the facilities, the history of the program is unbelievable, individual photos of all 80 or 90 something players, and the way you recorded game stats is simply amazing.

 

If ever high school ran their football program the way that Smith County did could you imagine how good Tennessee High School Football would be. I am not that familiar with Smith Co. Football, DC has not played them in 5 or 6 years. But I am not just talking about the website, sounds like a amazing place to play with alot of community support, great coaching, never heard of Smith Co. running it up on someone, or anyone having a bad thing to say about them or their sportsmanship.

 

I was totally blown away by their website which is what got me started on this post, have also noticed how many people follow Smith Co. and post on CoachT about their team. I just wanted to give respect where respect is due.

 

And everyone wonders how Smith Co. seems to have a successful team year, after year, after year. Looking forward to DeKalb coming down to Smith Co. this year. Hopefully we will have everyone healthy when the game rolls around and give you guys our best shot.

I have got to compliment Smith Co. a little here. I was trying to get some stats and results from Fridays games and went to the Smith County Football Website for one of the first times. Thanks D1. We do take pride in what we have. The coaches do a great job. The support of the community is unbelievable. That's were it starts. The facilities are unmatched by any 3A school (in the area anyway) thanks to a well to do alum amd the Q-back club. The SC mafia does like to get on the T and poke a sharp stick at folks......and most know it's all fun.

I don't know, chuckie, Portland, LA (during the Cates' years), David Lipscomb, Kingston, Boyd Buchannan, heck even Gville in one of your "glory years." SC will be stepping out in the backyard Friday. Outcome will be the usual one. SC 41-7 and that's if the dogs get called off this year. Good Luck, though, from there on out. Go get yourself another gold ball for the backyard.

Oh.....I don't know. It depends on what you call BIGTIME. As far as giving SC all this confidence.....it may have something to do with beating a SMALLTIME team 10 YEARS IN A ROW.

OK Chuckles.....what gives the confidence SC won't do it again??? That is, if you have any.

SC has NEVER WON a bigtime game...........................EVER. And G-ville aint much better than Cheat'em this yr. BUT.....I hope them tigers put it on the Chicken County Owlettes.(aint gonna happen)

I'll be glad to do it. Remember, you didn't even want to comment on your defense yourself. I said the same things last year about Dekalb's defense. You ought to know yourself, that's what's holding them back from being really, really good.

SC has won "several" more games that they probably wasn't really supposed to win than G-ville or TC. SC doesn't get to play small time ball. TC has won their gold balls when they had the talent but I think the S. Pitt game last year was one where coaching won. TC could've made a huge statement and won 3A when TT was a sr but coaching got in the way. Enjoy.
