Like I posted last week in response to your original query adco, I've spoken with Wade Wester, the Cocke County coach....he has not resigned.

Workouts, as part of their offseason conditioning program, were cancelled last week - but will restart this afternoon...

West wo't lose b/c Cocke Co is mentally beat by them and don't handle it well enough against their pressure and allbeit East is rejuvenated they just don't have the horses to overcome West but could surprise Many others. I think Seymour will surprise people b/c of how hard they play and they have a good pg and a good shooting 4 man. Not having Slay hurts them- Jeff Co not having Kyle early could hurt but too inconsistant and don't play defense-the remainder of the league will be in the bottom just not strong enough to compete with the upper level-should be a fun season-

Yea, I agree that CCHS might be mentally beat by West. They've had the game close both times, but then the bottom falls out. I think West pressing will hurt them badly as well. West is just a step above the rest. CCHS does have the size down low to play with them, if they'll work it in the post, slow down the game, and make the easy shots. I agree about Seymour. I've watched them play before, and the PG can play. She hustles, makes plays, and can shoot it. I think they could go for 3rd in the conference. Not having Slay could hurt however.

Seymour has a GREAT pg in Casie Cowan. Can score big and set others up. As good as the point guards are in the IMAC she won't lose many battles. Brown will also need to score a lot for them to have a chance in any of their IMAC games. She can play all 5 spots on the court but may spend a lot of time on the bench in foul trouble as she will most like get stuck guarding Depew, Taylor Hall, Orrick, etc all year in the half court. Those are the only 2 starters returning but both have started since entering HS. I'm afraid the inside power of the IMAC top-tier teams will be too much, but we'll see. Losing Slay hurts on paper but she wouldn't have fared very well against Orrick, Sprouse, Hall, etc either.

come on panther. i dont think you are very familar with this conference if your putting orrick in the same category as hall or depew. she is not on their level, just a big bruiser. as far as the conference, west hands down. let me repeat hands down. not only are they favored to win this conference i wouldnt be surprised if they challenge in murfreesboro!! heard many rumors they are better than last year and how they killed everyone this summer. this is what that school has been waiting on for many years. heres my prediction...

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
