Another week, another cancellation. Morristown West's showdown at South Greene has been postponed due to the white stuff. No makeup date has been officially announced.

Congratulations to the Morristown West Lady Trojans--ranked number 1 in the first AP poll of the season. As we all know there is a lot of basketball yet to be played!

Whitney Kyle I'm hearing will probably play Friday-this should help JeffCo some-Miller still out and Kyle will be rusty-still won't beat MoWest or Cocke Co. Congrats to West and Cocke Co on being ranked in 1st AP poll

Tonight's Seymour @ Cocke County games have been postponed.

Likely make-up date is Feb. 9th taking place of non-conference games for both schools.

Friday night's game between Morristown West and Jefferson County in Dandridge has been moved to Morristown. Apparently a pipe busted at JCHS and has ruined the gym floor. Not sure what this means for the rest of the year's home games at JC. But again...Jan. 15 Morristown West at Jefferson County has been moved to Morristown.

IMAC tournament and Region I tournament are both at Morristown East this year.

Yea, she's probably gone for the year. She had been playing really good lately too. This probably kills their chances of beating West because they will press us full court with great athletes. If they can keep getting it inside and let the offense run through Shannon, they can still play at a high level. Also a good chance for Nicole Ball to come in and contribute.

Its a one horse race now-it was before too but CCHS was at least an outside shot of competing w/MWHS. W/O Budda CCHS has dropped back with all the mediocre teams in the IMAC. Shannon can't do it by herself and there IS NOT another good ballhandler or as aggressive one on their team-anyone with a basketball IQ and common sense can see that. She was playing well and under control which was making them a very good team. But when you struggle with a bad Jeff Co team and lose to MEHS then you are now considered mediocre-looks like Seymour could be #2 in the IMAC what does that tell you?

Probably true. They got some alright guards who can be streaky shooters but they don't have anybody to replace Buda. If they take it inside and get after it on defense they will be able to still win some games. Guess we'll see if West can live up to the potential this year.
