Now that I have finally "passed" all of the black fowl I had to eat last week, I am ready to make my pick on this weeks game.

South has the "mental" advantage IMO but the Vikings clearly have the "physical" advantage and are clicking on all cylinders right now. Unless South can get a lead and eat clock, I wil have to pick TN High this year.

Still not gonna say a blowout, just a decisive win. TH 35 South 21

I also agree with some others that this will not be the last meeting between these two this year.

Ok, ok…. I’ll take my question off the table since it seems to have practically shut this thread down. But I will give an opinion. For the Vikings I personally think Keenan’s injury is worse than anybody (outside of a tight circle) knows. Kinda reminds me of the Booby Miles and his situation in the “Friday Night Lights” movie. He’s been at maybe 70% at best most of the season. St. Clair is or should be (in all reality) done for the season. I think that has probably already been decided and is a known fact for those in the know at the South camp. Philips……. hummmmmm?? I think he could go this Friday, but Coach Carter has to decide if HE feels the Rebels really have a chance in this one… and if it’s worth risking CP aggravating his injury in what is expected to be a very physical game.

In this game… controlling the line of scrimmage is key. If the Viking can stump the South running attach early in the game, it will then just be a matter of keeping the South receivers in front of them at all times and shutting down the big plays. That will be extremely difficult with Waterson because we know the boy can run… but can he make the plays?? On offense… if the Vikings are able to control the line of scrimmage then they will run the ball down your throat until you prove you can stop it. If you are able to stop it… then the fun begins, because I’m sure they have a whole bag of TREATS made just for this Hollowed weekend. South will nickel and dime the Vikings to death with screens and short passes out in the flats. But I’ve never seen a nickel or a dime add up to 6… if you know what I mean. This will be a good one never the less with this being a very emotional game for South.

I kid around on here allot, but in all seriousness… I have to say that my hat is off to the South coaches, players, and families for a difficult but memorable season that won’t soon be forgotten… regardless of the outcome of this game. I think I can speak for most Vikings in saying that while we fully intend to beat you down this Friday night  … the respect meter is on HIGH for the Sullivan South football program, players, coaches, parents, and fans…. and that will show out on the field and in the stands tomorrow night.

I had a couple more issues. Are you going to block off the area behind the visitors stands and make the Viking fans PAY to park in the field at the bottom of the hill on the visitors side the way you did during the DB game? Tacky…. very tacky! dry.gif And you have to know greed brings bad karma. The other thing is… I bought one of those grilled hamburgers form the home side at the DB game…. absolutely delicious!!! :roflolk: You think they could make up a bunch and sell them on the visitors side? :roflol:

Cap, unless something has changed South didn't make money on the parking in the field. It is owned by the people that run the driving range down at the redlight. I'm not sure why they blocked off the visitor parking but it won't hurt you to park near the baseball field and walk. You're a former athlete. B) You can even buy a hamburger on your way over to your seat.

Speaking of paying to park, where can you park for free at TN High anymore? I love the signs "free parking, donations accepted" :roflol:

You know what rebel fans... MAN UP! Make a prediction and believe in our boys. Thats what sports is all about. You all make it sound as if we have no chance. Well I believe the boys from death valley might have a little something to say about that. We've had an up and down year, its been emotional, and had a lot of injuries to key players. The game is not played on paper, stats up to this point don't matter. When these two teams get together, its a battle. I very much respect these TN High Vikes, heck of a team. But call it what you want, I'll take our boys in blue.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
