So who's wins? Of course this is based on regular season and has nothing to do with playoffs.I know nothing about Stone and Gurchiek other than they are QB's. Hayes is as well and this is his first year at QB. He scored 28 TD's this year, throwing for 16 of them and only 6 INT and over 1200 yds. He has 984 yds rushing and averages almost 8 yds a carry. White Station's only losses on the year were to MUS & CBHS and they have beaten Whitehaven,Melrose and Mitchell (all district games and all of those teams made the playoffs) They also defeated Briarcrest & Ridgeway who also made the playoffs. All in all 7 of the 10 teams they played made the playoffs.

My totally biased vote is for Reed Gurchiek from Mt. Juliet--no I don't know his stats--but I have seen every game he has started over the last two years--he is a fine young man, a leader and got it done on the field with his arm and legs----MJ played the following playoff teams: McGavock, White's Creek, Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Beech---MJ finished the regular season 9-1 and lost the last game 47-46 in double OT

I do not like this new mr football selection. If the playoffs split up into 6 sub groups, then so should mr football selection.

I feel that each true class is not getting their respect. Each classification should get their own mr football. Just look at 3A. All but one are 6A players. I can honestly say Henry County got screwed in this new selection. They have a stud QB and RB and NG that is a stud. However, the reclassification to 3 classifications in regular season does not do any student athlete justification when the playoffs move to 6 classifications.

TSSAA truly did screw up on this one!

He gets my vote, at least if I had one.

Mt. Juliet's QB was the best player I personally saw all year (who wasn't from Gallatin). He really was the difference maker for Mt. Juliet. Macadoo at Oakland is nothing short of a defensive BEAST. Not sure how they will finish but those are 2 kids who I saw and my impression of both these young men.

I do however agree 5A got the shaft in this but we did just play a season as 1,2 and 3A so I guess that's where they get it from. That's not a shot at anybody nominated either they are all good players from what I've read and heard.

How about all the kickers coming from the privates though. I guess the publics don't know anything about kicking the football in the endzone all but 3 KO's on the season. Or from having FG's over 50 yards on the season.

Not that I am biased or anything, but I do think McAdoo is the most deserving. I do wish they would wait till February or so to do this so they can take the whole season into account.

I don't have a problem with them just basing it on the regular season because not everyone gets in the playoffs. This isn't an award for the best player on the best team. It's for the most outstanding player period. I don't think however the media who vote on this see it that way.

I do not think it is going to change who gets nominated and who does not. But anyone can fill up their stats against an inferior schedule, not so much when you get into the playoffs.
