Did GP just quit or is AE that Good,I was at the game and AE is that good.Betsy will be in for a shock when those backs turn the corner, blink your eye and thier 15 yds down the field. And thier def.is very solid and very fast.I don't care how close teams played in them reg. season.AE 42-7 if that close.

I think you are way wrong. Asheville High School, who Elizabethton played early in the year, has just as much speed as AE. This is going to be a tough trip for the AE kids as expect them to be a bit psyched out when they step on the field. Most of their kids have never been north of Broadway in Knoxville. Plus, they do not have as much discipline as Elizabethton. Elizabethton's Tailback and Quarterback have as much speed as anyone on AE's team. They barely lost to CAK and I feel certain CAK would handle AE. AE lost to Brainerd who lost to Tyner who was manhandled by Alcoa......just saying.

good call lawnman. no doubt this one will be a barn burner. im telling you, elizabethton has just as much speed as anybody. do not underestimate besty. these kids have delt with every obsticle put infront of them. asheville is the 2nd best team we will play all year, of course the best team being Alcoa next week! betsy has its share of play makers on both sides of the ball. AE's speed will not decide the game. its simple, if we can run the ball well, we win.:thumb:

I think that you are underestimating east tn. football. That is if your backs can make it to the corner we have very underestimated speed on our defencive line. The only question that i have is, Has AE seen any team with as much speed as we have. The weather forcast says that rain Wed and Thurs which may hurt the RoadRunners, We have played in a downpour in Asheville and believe me the were very fast, also played on the mudpile in Johnson Co. so we have that edge. With that said i think that Coach Witten will have the boys ready and we come out from opening whistle and lay it on the line. Betsy by 6. GO CYCLONES!!!!!!!!!!!

You obviously don't know anything about the mindset of the Austin-East players. They are not easily rattled. When their backs get against the wall, they turn it on. As far as them travelling. Austin-East played away games in Morristown and Chattanooga this year. Travelling will not be a problem. People talk about the speed of Austin-East... the truth is that a lot of teams have some players that can match up with Austin-East's speed, but there aren't many teams that can match up with Austin-East's team speed across the board. Guess we'll never know about CAK and Austin-East because CAK will not play Austin-East in the regular season, and it's unlikely they will matchup in the playoffs. The Austin-East team that lost to Brainard was one-dimensional and full of sophomores. These talented sophomores now have 12 games of varsity experience and a ton of confidence. GP fans are now believers... more will believe after Friday nght. Like I said in another post, my Roadrunners are peaking at the right time.

Austin-East plays Fulton once or twice a year. Ooltewah had good team speed. Oh yeah, they also see a lot of team speed every day in practice.

Man you are really drinking the sweetened koolaid! 42-7 WOW! How many times has AE scored 42 points this year? I promise this will not be a blowout either way! The more I research this may a high scoring game! And as far as speed #33 and #25 are as fast as Ive seen in high school football in a while and im sure AE has speed as well so I think thats a wash. AE fans I hope you all bring a ton of fans it makes it very exciting for both teams not to mention really helps the T$$AA!

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
