Father Ryan vs MUS

MUS is over-rated, and should postmouthly be removed from any national ranking sysytem. Albeit they have a nice record, even stretching over the past 2 seasons, I feel like they haven't had the same amount of competition experienced all over Tennessee that they have in Memphis. Not to say Memphis is a bad place for football, but I definitely feel like Nashville has the stiffest competition, followed by Knoxville, then Memphis. They beat other nationally ranked teams, yes, but they definitely showed weakness Friday. Ranked teams, especially near the top 10, never show weakness.

Wow, I have read some ignorant posts on this site but this by far is the winner. Congrats for being a dumbass son.

Top 10 teams never show weakness...Didn't Byrnes have like 3 turnovers against St.Thomas in their biggest game of the year? Man its so funny that once MUS struggles with a team in TN, that they're overrated, don't deserve to be nationally ranked, and to be honest I'm pretty sure Memphis is some darn stiff competitio, maybe not in the lower classes, but 5A and 6A are pretty strong in Memphis.

Even by your standards, this one is a stinker. If you accept the premise that Ryan is a good team (which I tend to accept), how is a close game in the state semi-final weakness? Not their best game of the season? Probably not, but you're not the best every game. Another hallmark of a great team is that they manage to win, even when they're not on form.

Owlbooster, you write half your posts attacking people who have anything to say about your school. This is a message board for ideas, not verbal attacks. Stick to the topic and avoid talking about what other people post.

Father Ryan had a great season and should be proud of the team. I hope the two posters who Coach T dismissed from this board are not seen as a reflection on Ryan. Everyone has a few dummies who know how to type. Congradulations to MUS on a hard fought win. The championship game should be a great game with the winner deserving the title. Good luck to both teams. :thumb:

Even I wouldn't hold Ryan responsible for those two.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
