I wouldn't buy it Bud....he's a Ken Massey math whiz just like 'ol jwc....too much of a coinkidink

I just figured ole jwc would be the first to admit when he was busted. I guess the jury is still out on this one.

I do like to look at the Massey numbers but there is only one me. oh well. hadn't looked at those numbers yet this week but i will.

heart says:

Betsy 17

Alcoa 14

head says:

Betsy 10

Alcoa 35

Cycloneprider-why are the Betsy fans whining about losing to us due to injuries? They are part of the game-just ask our starting CB we lost for the season after the first game or the starting WR we lost for half the season.

We beat you. You have a very good team-we'd likely split 50/50 if we played more than once this year - the teams are darned close.

Come early Alcoa fans-Betsy fans like to sit on the visitors side. It's not an intimidating place to play-my son loved it--it is a great atmosphere.

Alcoa by 17-relatively low scoring affair. Two great defenses but Alcoa has a little more speed, a little more LB discipline and if CAK can get three picks Alcoa can do better-plus Betsy lost an outstanding WR/CB to injury. Gotta root for our District.

who runs that ship? CAK runs that ship.......

can you get someone to work on those highlights?

Lets see CAK, isn't that those guys that have been sitting home the past 2 weeks?

Here we go again Betsy fans. Doesn't really matter what CAK has been doing the past couple of weeks, what matters is what we did AT Elizabethton on October 23rd. You have no idea what is coming your way, I wish you the best, but Alcoa is a GREAT Team that is well Coached.

No one is whining about injuries causing our loss to CAK. Fact is they did... well, those and the penalties that moved CAK down the field for the second touchdown. Can't win games giving tds away- but considering the fact we played from the first quarter on with a soph quarterback. I won't complain about the fact since CAK is so proud of the fact that they won by 1 point. That's in the past... and our kicker doesn't miss now... he's had quite a bit of experience since that game.

As far as Elizabethton fans liking to sit on the visitors side? I do know that a group of Elizabethton Alumni was sitting on the visiting side that night. We had planned a "mini reunion" after the game. The majority of the seating on the home side is for season pass holders... and there wasn't room for them on the home side. Playoff games are open seating "first come, first serve" so I really don't see that being a problem at the Alcoa game.

Personally I hope Alcoa comes to Eliz thinking they have nothing to worry about, AE did...

It appears to me that the only side talking smack is the betsy side. Let me explain it this way. Not only has Alcoa been willing to take on any and all 99.9% of the time they come out on the winning end. We have been alot of different places and I am sure that the cyclones will be a formidable opponent but I have the upmost confidence in our guys. Dont take cofidence as a knock on your team believe in them as we believe in ours. Look forward to first trip to your beautiful venue and hope that we can TCB :lol: .

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
