tandem
Let's get it going. Is there anyone who has seen both teams play?

tandem
I don't know much about Columbia, other than they have a good receiver who has committed to Chattanooga, I think. According to Coach T, they are ranked higher than Beech, but their schedule has been considerably weaker. Of course, the Tennessean has not ranked either one of them as a top ten team in the midstate. Beech doesn't impress anyone until the game starts. They have rushed for 419 and 375 in their last two games, with two different backs rushing for 100+ in both games. It looks like two very solid teams that are both peaking at the right time. Verb58
I know absolutely nothing about Columbia but as an outside observer I can say the following about Beech. Beech will work you to death on offense. I don't think they really care how many points or yards they give up on defense (at least that has been my impression over the last 2 games). They will run about 5 plays to perfection in the blocking schemes. They will get there yards and points and do just enough to keep the other team down by 1 score. I would have to think if Columbia can go up on them by 2 scores they may have a chance if not Beech WILL WIN STATE this year. They truly are a machine. Even if you know that Haymer usually runs left and Sites usually goes right off the buck sweep with 2 WR/blockers you will not stop them. By the time you get in on either runner they have blocked downfield for 7-8 yards per carry. To me that speaks volumes about the job the O-line coach there is doing. He may need to appy for some of the openings around the state. These kids are coached great and do a good job showing it. I can't believe that I'm pulling for Beech but after seeing them 3 games I just don't think Columbia has a chance. This one may be over in the 1st half. I guess the question is does Columbia have the defense to stop Beech?
osk24
Im gonna have to go with Central on this one. I wanna see Coach Stone get a ring.
90sLion
Columbia has the defense to hang with the Beech offense. Keep in mind we just shut out SS last night. They were averaging almost 40 a game and were held to 30 yards on the ground. GO LIONS!!

ksgovols
I was extremely impressed with the Lion's defense last night. Fleming and Goff were outstanding at LB and they were deep in the D-line. I wasn't as impressed with the offense or at least the play calling. Fumble in the red zone on the first drive after marching right down the field in one formation and go to the Wilcat and fumble. Scored a touchdown and then went back to the Wildcat for whatever reason. Intercept a pass and take it inside the red zone and come away with no points. I thought Bryant Belew was under utilized. It should have been 21-0 or 17-0 at halftime. Left a lot of points on the field. CHS won with defense last night. Good job Lions! Represent. Beech wins this one going away, bringing the 5A title to District 9.
