BayouBear
Joe - Will there be any seeding this year on the DI side or names pulled out of a hat?
retired rebel 64
Joe - Will there be any seeding this year on the DI side or names pulled out of a hat? There will be seeding for this years D1 state duals. Criteria includes #1 - must be a region champion and #2 must have placed in the state duals in the previous year. There will also be an attempt made to seperate regional opponents to opposite sides of the brackets. The only reason they would not be is if seeding does not permit. retired rebel 64
I just read on tennesseewrestling.com that Cleveland forfitted out to Bradley in the Region 4 finals. What's up with that?
CoachBlair
Last year the Board of Control approved a seeding criteria proposed by the TACA wrestling council similar to the one currently used for the individual tournament. If a team placed in the top 4 in the previous year's tournament and wins its region, it will be seeded based on it's placement from last year. So, right now Bradley will be seeded #1. Cleveland will not be seeded, but should be placed in the opposite bracket from Bradley because they are from the same region. The only other team that could earn a seed for this year's tournament would be Clarksville. If they win their region, they will be the #2 seed because they finished 4th in last year's tournament to Soddy, who did not qualify this year. After that, it's pretty much a draw. Teams from the same region will be placed in opposite brackets. Region champions should be matched with region runners-up in the first round. BoBKatz86
Maybe overton can pull the upset on franklin. So they can take on ravenwood in the region 6 finals
PUMMELKING
Alignment looks sum what strange when looking at D2. No schools east of Chatt? So really no rep from EAST TN at all? Seems to me they need to have a four coners apporach. Just a hought.
rushn
Knox Webb represented the East. Only 6 teams from the East/Middle regions qualify plus 2 from the West. Several Webb wrestlers were out with the flu at the qualifying tournament on the 23rd.

IT LOOKS LIKE EVERY D-2 SCHOOL WRESTLES ON THE STATE DUELS WEEKEND, WHILE MOST OF THE D-1 SCHOOLS ARE HOME TWITLING THEIR FINGERS. mbecker
I agree, however, it is against TSSAA rules to have a match or tournament during the State duals. I wanted to change the J.V. Championships to that date until Coach Peck pointed out the rule to me.
