Actually my friend, you are partially right. Offered yes and pending acceptance yes.............but the Exodus will happen............this is not the only job in the state........or many others. Cheatham Counties decision to punish student athletes...........will cause coaches to leave, East Mag or no East Mag.

Well if he did not accept the job then I am sure there is a great reason behind it and yes there are other jobs open that could be considered. Maplewood & Rossview are 2 that come to mind right away. Don't be shocked if Hunters Lane joins that list very soon.

Cheatham County's decision to cut 4th block weights and also cut planning periods for educators is very lousy. When you add that to the cutting of coaching supplements back in 2004 now you see that there is a huge problem. Who in their right mind is going to want to coach at a place where:

1.) you can't pay assistants

2.) you don't have a planning period to necessary things accomplished during the day (such as mowing, painting, practice planning, game planning, etc.)

3.) you don't have a time to ensure that the kids continue to improve in the weight room day after day

???????????????????????????????????????????????

Why are they interviewing again???? There is nothing that a "fall back" candidate is going to tell you the 2nd time around that you didn't already hear the 1st time around.

While Cheatham County may have some people on the hill who are idiots there is no question that Metro/Nashville is not very far behind :thumb::thumb:

Maplewood & East Literature have now gone through an interview process, supposedly closed the deal, and then re-opened the interview process. Who that has already applied would want to take the job now????

The "new playoff system" that was just put into place last week hurts East Lit. Under what was the "z-plan" all East Lit. had to do was beat Pearl-Cohn & CPA (teams in their class) to earn the automatic bid to the postseason. Now the automatic bids go to teams that finish 1st & 2nd in the district regardless of class. While East Lit. has the horses they are in a district with David Lipscomb, Pearl-Cohn, Maplewood, Whites Creek, & CPA. The non-district schedule will continue to include both Sycamore & Glencliff. Finishing in the Top 2 in that district is going to be a very tough chore for anyone and with a competitive non-district schedule to boot the "new plan" makes the opportunity to win at East Lit. much more difficult.

Unfortunately under the "new plan" there will be a lot of teams with weak non-district schedules compiling those wild card berths after the automatic bids are clinched because the first thing that the TSSAA is going to look at will be OVERALL RECORD.
