sleezye9
Hey GC what does the rest of the tournament scheduling look like. I know they are one night behind. Have they scheduled more games on Sat. to make up for lost time?
GCPioneer
I have no clue. Surely there needs to be Saturday games played. That's a wide open day for games. I know our girls won't play until Monday. That's a pretty good little break for a team during a tournament.

VOREBS
So far all games have gone as seeded, #1 GC vs #4 Haywood at 6 Monday, and #2 OC vs #3 Westview at 8. I think we see the 1 and 2 seeds win these games, and that sets up OC vs GC round 3. Should be a great night of basketball Monday. But first, GC/Haywood III, and OC/Westview 4. See you at the games.... GO LADY REBELS!!!!!!!!!
GCPioneer
Haywood and the referees gave us everything we wanted last time we played Haywood in Brownsville. Reedy was out with the injury to her foot and Butler got in foul trouble in the game. GC winded up pulling it out by 10. Westview and Obion Co. should be a good one as well. If Westview can somewhat contain Fussell and keep theirselves in the ball game, they could pull one out. Should be 2 good games on Monday night and 2 more good games again on Wednesday night! redbirdfan
Should be two great semifinals on Monday evening at Central Station. Haywood has a very athletic squad but GC looked liked a team on a mission and was very buisnesslike in the opening round win last week. Lady Pioneers still may have a bitter taste in their mouth from the loss at home to OC a few weeks ago Reedy is healthy now and GC should have no problem with Haywood in the opener. In the nightcap- "da View" will take on OC for the fourth time on the Lady Rebs home floor. Westview has never really shot the ball well on the Central Station floor as was shown by the 72-49 Lady Rebs win over the Lady Chargers back in Mid-December Other factors will factor in to this evening's matchup though- For starters OC will be without one of their starters as Pate sits for the second game.. Also Westview likes the ball control game and make it halfcourt and almost came back from being down ten points in the 4th qtr. a couple of weeks ago when they hosted OC before falling to the Lady Rebs 52-48. Look for Da View to run two defenders at Fussell as someone else will have to step up and provide some scoring for OC this evening. On the other side, in the previous three games- OC has played a box and one on Rechis with the chaser being a combination of Grady, Wright or Hicks off the bench. LaRue is a defensive guru so look for a few wrinkles in this one. OC should win this one BUT they'll again have to Play as a "team" , contain Rechis and Swaim as best as possible and move on to face a very determined Lady Pioneer team in the finals. GC Pioneer= some of your fans from Obion County were looking for you the other night, maybe they'll get a chance to met ya sometime this week. Should be a good night of 13AA semifinal hoops.. getcha popcorn Ready!!
Purple & Gold Standard
redbirdfan.... What effect will Pate not playing until the regions start have on the Lady Rebels ??...Can Goodman step in and take her minutes or will OC go smaller and faster ?? redbirdfan
P & G = Goodman will most likely start in the remaining games of the tournament and yes it will affect the rotation that LaRue uses. Most likely Tucker will rotate down and play inside more on offense. Missing Pate in the lineup will hurt. She's avg. 8 points and around 6 rebounds or so per game. OCCHS will more than likely keep the same style and hope that Goodman stays out of foul trouble. She's been putting extra time in the past week but is still a Fr. but has a good upside to her game. She definatley will gain a ton of experience this week vs. Westview and possibly Gibson Co. if the Lady Rebs can win. Hopefully other issues get resolved before the regionals and the Lady Rebels can work as one cohesive unit again. It'd be a shame to make it this far with a possible state tournament appearance just a couple of weeks away and have everything falter.. Once again, as stated earlier, it's going to take a total "TEAM" effort.
