I respectfully disagree with your assessment Comp. Garvin is a tall frame, not blessed with the quickest first step. He is the center of the passing attack. No passing, then no running in the spread.

I think you are both correct in certain parts, but you might be missing one important factor. The QB must have time to find recievers...and he hasn't had as much as he needs. Part of this is because

Yeah the boys played sloppy ball but were still too much for the Rebs. I though Stewart had a great game. Best thing I can say about this one is at least South can't blame it on officiating.

ya the refs were against us tonight!

still cant believe that radio guy.

Devils had horrible game. 7 FUMBLES!!!

I got kinda ticked at the South radio guy.

He said it wld be a long year if the devils were still playin up...hmmm devils beat a 6a team last week and 5a this week...whats that say about south?

I think we would still be the best in the Good 'Ol IMAC... ButI think South will have to get better fast if they are gonna win many in the Big 8. We can't send our BRAC officials to Colonial Heights to keep them in every game they play.

Congrats Devils... This has been a great rivalry over the past few years. We were overmatched tonight. This greeneville team is the best we'll see (except maybe Dobyns Bennett) all year till maybe the playoffs(if we get there). This Rebel group has to improve quickly as we start conference play next week vs. a good boone team. I hope these first two good opponents have prepared us for conference play. Now that the game is over... I hope you all have an undefeated season on your way to a gold ball, stay focused (eliminate the fumble-itis) and it is within your grasp. Good luck to you this season and best of health and luck to all the players, family, fans and community. :thumb:

Gonna be a long, long year for the Rebels. What 5 turnovers and still scored 35? Not to mention the field position that we handed South(don't think they had a scoring drive start on their side of the field) Just didn't see any athletes dressed in blue. Oh well...

 

On a side note I guess the refs were mad at us because they still couldn't drive from Gatlinburg to the airport, and I'm pretty sure I heard one of them say something about their Papaw losing their farm, so he was going to get us back tonight. What you think COMP?? :roflol:

Nice game Greenedevils. I was really impressed with this year's edition. I didn't see anything that would lead me to believe you shouldn't be back in Cookeville playing for that gold ball. Bring it back.

 

Spradlin is a beast. We knew it, but watching him tonight was enlightening. He was the workhorse, but your game ball should go to Stewart. He was steady and righted a ship that Carmichael was about to steer into trouble. The Rebels had opportunities with the dropped TD pass on the trick play and a mid field fumble when we could have gone up 14. Nevertheless, it was obvious we were not going to stop the rush, so the game was Greeneville's all the way after that 1st drive.

 

It's a great atmosphere at Burley and has been a good series. I hate to see it end. Good luck the rest of the way.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
