The only chance Catholic has in this one is if they can run behind their big tackles and eat up a lot of clock doing so and hope that Maryville has at least 3 or 4 turnovers. I see this one being ugly. I have seen both teams play and Catholic is not close, on top of the fact that they lost, perhaps, their biggest offensive weapon in Patrick Haun. Their tackles are good, obviously, but they go both ways and are wore down in the second half. If Catholic can't get a run game going to shorten the game, this one will be over with at halftime. Maryville 38 Catholic 7

Jake....I sure hope you are right but I'm not as confident. A lot of factors in play...Maryville coming off a big win, fall break week, Thursday night game, Huge game on Catholic's schedule....oh yeah, Skynyrd coming to town...lot's of distractions.

Maryville 24 Catholic 14

Yea Im gonna have to say Maryville beats Catholic. This game makes Catholic realize they are not as good as they think they are and that they are not ready to play with the big boys. They really should realize that after the Webb game though. Maryville defense is solid and there offense is to consistent but I will say the first half is played close but the final outcome will be 34-17 Maryville

...They really should realize that after the Webb game though...

Using Webb is a good indicator of what kind of team you have. With that in mind, I'll predict that Maryville will beat The University of Knoxville Catholic by 3-4 TDs.

Webb beat Catholic by 26 at Catholic and played subs almost the entire 4th quarter. During the last week of pre-season Webb (without their starting QB) scrimmaged Maryville and Webb was slightly better that day. Certainly doesn't mean Webb would beat them now, but it is a decent indicator of the two teams relative strength.

A lot has changed for Maryville since then, as they have improved on both sides of the ball with their line play, improved their overall speed on defense and have had a RB emerge who is very talented. So I really don't see why Maryville doesn't take this one easily. Catholic is not a very fast team, particularly on defense and I believe Maryville's skill position players will have a big night.

Maryville will beat catholic!!.. I see this game being competitive for the first half, but maryville will wear down catholic as the game goes on and they will be to strong O and D and will end up pulling away in the 2nd half with no problem! Good luck to both teams..

As you know we all have to stay healthy. Proud Alexander and Micah are going to play together at Bethel. They were really fun to watch at the All Star game in Murfreesboro. They have real good chemistry together on the floor.
    • Baxter will do what they most always do.....at a minimum produce at least 9 Ws and run into at least the 2nd round.....Booger actually enjoyed seein them in the Gold Ball contest last season.... Booger just sayin
