Who's the New Coach at Ravenwood

Aydelott would be crazy to go to Ravenwood. Crazy parents, non athletic supporting administration, not enough talent to win at the level he is used to. If he wanted a Williamson Co job, the place for him is a little closer to Cool Springs.

From what I have heard, that school is turning around fast and has a new attitude and focus. Centennial has under achieved for most of its existence, even with the presence of talented athletes.Have you seen their track team? They have been blazing fast for years, but most wouldnt play football for the previous coaches. With the rezoning, Centennial will be growing and if they remain open zoned as it has been since last year, with the right coach, look out.

Aydelott could go in there and be winning big time within 2 years and be a hero. The raw talent is there. A little discipline and heavy lifting in the weightroom would take that place leaps and bounds. I think Centennial is the best coaching opening in the county. Ravenwood is the least desirable. A sense of entitlement from parents makes coaching a nighmare, shrinking enrollment, a principal that doesnt understand or push athletics all work against the program. Apologies to the RHS folks, its just my opinion.

agree about the Cougars

Coach A has RIVERDALE right where he wants it right now i would be very surprised if he even applies for this job

I agree. He has positioned Riverdale just the way he wants it. He has removed defense and special teams from the vocabulary so all the paper has to write about is his vaunted wing-t offense.

no what i meant he has rebuilt his program and we will get over the hump next year

I agree Riverdaleman. Riverdale was really young this year and it showed at times. However, the foundation is there to be a great team next year. It takes time for a program to go through a coaching change most of the time. Oakland did it in a year so there are exceptions but they are few and far in between. Look how long it took Smyrna to become competitive and even more recently Blackman. Some Riverdale fans will not be happy until the warriors start playing for the gold ball year in and year out. That simply doesnt happen very often. Coach A is a good coach and Riverdale is lucky to have him. I dont see him leaving Riverdale any time soon. He may not have all of the fans' support but he does have the administration's support.

Im not sure who would really want to go to Ravenwood at this point. At one time I am sure that Woodward probably wanted this job but more than likely not anymore. Who could blame him? Blade leaving Oak Ridge now may be a stretch too. He has them still playing and I am sure leaving now would be difficult. I think a lot would have to be on the table to get a well qualified and knowledgeable coach with experience and I dont see that happening from Ravenwood's administration. So my best guess it that it will be a younger coach trying to get his feet wet.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
