SP vs JB for the Gold

Whew! Just got to the end of this mess after two days of reading (been out of pocket for the last week)...

Just a few things here...

-No doubt these are the two best teams in 1A!

-JB is not like UC last year. They resemble SP waaay more than last years UC team.

-SP will have more talent and overall team speed.

-JB will have the best/fastest defense you've seen this year...besides Polk Co. of course.

-All four rb's (#1,#11,#15,#34) would run circles around Woodmore (sorry Croz, but for his stature, I was just not that impressed)

-I think the qb play will determine the outcome...both are quality h.s. qb's!

-Player to watch (besides the obvious)....#40 JB ("somewhat" reminds me of Montrez on defense in '08)

-These are two of my favorite fan bases on coachT.

-Snoball did watch the SM/SP game...at my house on Sunday.

-This could very well be the best game of the 8 and me and Snoball will be there early!

Seven, glad to see ya'll are coming to the game. Is the Jolly Green Giant from McKenzie coming down too? He has seen both teams play just like you so I would like a little info before the game so I know what to expect. If we come out clicking, I like our chances....but all SP fans know this will not be a mercy rule game. Jo Byrns is a quality opponent and we will have to play 4 quarters to have any chance of winning this one.

Ya'll run a lot of what we do. A little more vanilla but not much. Both defenses should be prepared this week LOL

Thats the first time I have ever heard JB's offense described as vanilla. Just because they dont run stupid trick plays on every possession doesnt mean they don't have ALOT of wrinkles in their offense that are to subtle for an average fan to notice. Against Wayne. Co we made a very subtle adjustment and started running at will!!! My guess is you will not call if vanilla after the game Friday.

I'm assuming he'll be there, but I haven't talked to him in a few days. Troll will be there for sure, and Reaction said he was thinking about coming up. This is one that most have wanted to see all year, and I think it will be a dandy. I'm guessing it will take a full four quarters for whoever pulls it out, but I can't really tell you anything scheme wise. I've just seen a lot of "contenders" in my day, and those are usually pretty easy to spot. I knew it would take a very, very good team to knock them out of the western part of the bracket, which obviously didn't happen.

glazed you should have just deleted your account and burned your computer after friday night you post like a sad girl.

Last time I looked, JB deleted PC and WC from the playoffs this year. :roflolk: I am glad all you PC and WC folks feel beholden to J.B. now. I bet Collinwood folk would never be caught dead pulling for Perry or Wayne Counties. :roflol:

Go back and read what I said again... I'll translate.. JB is a little more vanilla than SP...but not much. We aren't very vanilla but don't run a bunch of trick plays either

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
