Old Darwin's laws of natural selection ain't workin' so good at gittin' rid of the 'dumb' gene.:roflolk:

Troll thinks it's too much guvment interference.:roflol:

I was laughing my butt off one day earlier in the season when I heard one of our vocal coaches yelling at one of our youngsters . . . "Your mama is a doctor . . . . . You daddy is a lawyer . . . . . Where the h*ll did you get all those dumba$$ genes!?!"

And you are PROUD of beating team BELOW your enrollment classification for the State Championship? REALLY? Well....hmmmmmmmm

I have to take up for my area team on this. The TSSAA set the rules for classifications. SM played in the classification according to those rules. They are 2A State Champs. Quit with the sour grapes already. The 1A State Champs SP Pirates played them to the wire and came about as close as anybody (along with FC and TC) to beating them (and mercy ruled them last year). We are playing them again for the next 2 years even though they are 3A size playing up in 4A. Congratulations to Trinity for making it to the championship game and getting a silver ball but just so you will know the lowly 1A Pirates would have mercy ruled ya'll too as well as FC or TC!!! East TN football is THE BEAST!!!

I'm glad somebody finally pointed out that you can play up but you can't play down. I don't think the TSSAA is overly fond of us judging from the reaming out that some of us took after the game by the head guy. I'm fairly certain they wouldn't allow us to play for the championship in a class they didn't put us in. Just sayin'. My son watched the Trousdale thugs trying to start a fight and watched them get escorted out. I'm sure the "slapper" was the same young Signal kid who supposedly attacked and spit on a little old lady and her little bitty defenseless grandson. He must have dressed up as an adult so he could slap some kid and get away with it. I guess all these brainless rumors won't stop until a certain team's fan base picks up their collective lower lip and moves on to next year. I'll bet their players are moving on and looking forward. Perhaps the rest should.

Congrats to Signal! No doubt you were the best team in 2A this year. I want to give a big shout out to Mtn. Troll. He's definitely the CoachT rookie of the year! We (snoball and I) had a blast with you three (you know who you are) during the Alcoa game. I have a feeling at least the five of us have a little respect for each other () , just wish it could've lasted longer.

Hey Troll...here's a little research for you. Now, I know yall are the fastest team to win it after starting a program, and there's something that can be said for that. But look and see if any team...ever...has beaten SP at Beene and TC at the Creekbank in the same year. That's quite an accomplishment. Again...congrats to SM and my new found friends on the mountain. :thumb:

Ha my true affiliations are with Texas high school football, if you think East Tn football is "beast" you are way off point. In terms of the nation, East Tn is very average at best

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
