Roy Dillard
We will not play Alcoa..that would be a mess...I do not really think alot of people realize just how good Alcoa is...They have a first second and third string that are all quality players and not too much drop off in talent...Plus that Knoxville area is loaded with players for them and Maryville to split...We could beat some 3a and even 4a teams...but not Alcoa type teams...I would love to see us play TC...I think the tough schedule this year helped us in the playoffs I garuntee you that I know how good Alcoa is. Grider better not play these boys or we will get beat. I have read about them in my Murphy Fair book every year and they are real good. They have won about 7 championships in a row. You are real good if you can do that. Grider has only won one championship. Anybody can do that. Grider needs to win 3 or 4 in a row and then we will be real good. You think im joking but im not. Omniscience
I know Grundy is week 1 and Polk is week 9 but other than that I don't know weeks. SM leaving cause some scrambling in the schedules and I have seen the actual line up. I did hear that jasper dropped Boyd (I think Coach B is feeling the heat and needs wins) . And Bledsoe picked up Whitwell instead of playing us as did Cascade. Have heard Sequatchie Co. will be making the trip to S.Pitt week 3. Looking forward to renewing this rivalry. Also doesnt surprise me Bledsoe Co. wouldnt want any. Played 6 class 1A schools last year just to make their record look good
NoCompetition2
I think we would if we could be competitive. We just don't have the depth to play with them...... and prob not the talent from what I saw in the Championship game. The Polk game took a toll on us physically the last two years. I think they and Signal are about all we can stand of powerhouse teams with just 40 kids on the roster. What about Trousdale or any team from that area? buc55
The sad thing is teams the T$$AA has made it so no one will play the good team. In the past teams would play a SP. Trousdale team to help their team along with playing stiffer competition. Now the way the play-offs are set up playing give me games are the way to go. Take the Bucs for example by playing SP,RB, and Howard we lost home Field games during the play-offs and if we were not in a easy district could have cost us a play-off appearance. When we were 4-4. Marion and Meigs wanted to play but now they won't play after we went deep in the play-offs. I for one will miss MC game I thought it was a good rivalry. OLD PIRATE
Old Pirate don't see any schools traveling that far to play anybody regardless if they could win or not on an annual basis. The playoff travels cost the athletic programs enough as it is. Dad burnit, it costs the fans a lump too. Us fellers have them skillet slingers to feed and water. Not too mention stopping every 45 minutes or so to let them do ther business and look in the mirror. Long trips soon become a journey unless.........them skillet slingers are left behind and then them long trips can....become a trip a feller can really....enjoy by seeing the sites at some of them places like Da Sha Vu.... Dad burnit, sure wish them ther championship feuds would return to Nashvegas THEM WAR EAGLES IS A GOIN TO EARHOLE THEM SOME DUCKS Edited December 15, 2010 by OLD PIRATE

OLD PIRATE
Old Pirate says now Boyd is scheduled for the 8th game does that mean SP has lost another team or will be looking for weeks 9 & 10?
TrainTracks99
So Boyd is 8th now? So I read where Zone said something about Signal Mtn leaving a void in our schedule...Are we not continuing that rivalry? Who are the possible choices next year to be added besides Grundy and Sequatchie? Anyone heard? What about Tyner? I realize they didn't travel well but those were two great games to watch if we could work it out...Tyner squeezed into those last 3-4 games could be a disaster though

We are still playing them but it is a non-region game now. Tyner may not have had a open date. still have to have the same dates open for it to work
