Greeneville Coach resigns

I'd say Greeneville pays considerably more than Jeff Co...Potts would be a great fit and has an awful lot of friends here but he's an assistant at CN and might be perfectly content there. Galyon just gives me the creeps.

I think Potts would do a great job. I agree that the college life might be too easy to give up.

Despite getting off track, Greeneville is still a very desirable coaching job. We don't seem to mind paying for quality coaching so I would expect a lot of resumes. Greeneville is a great town and has a lot to offer...

Rumors are Myers at Volunteer is interested. Took Volunteer from bottom to AAA regionals in 3 short years and think he still lives in Greenville.

any word on how the search is going?

Any news Barb? I am hearing thru the grapevine that they haven't even contacted Coach Buchanan to gauge his interest in the job...it might be in their best interest to do so...He has the 3 C's...(1) He's a Christian...(2) He has Character...(3)He has Coaching Ability...the right man for the job is right in front of them and in the same county. If you know anyone on the "search committee" put a little "bug" in their ear to give JB a call...HE is the FIRST person that I would have contacted...He is one of the best around...

I have been a bit out of the loop for the past few weeks but I would think the interview process should be in full swing unless they have made a hire and are delaying an announcement. I agree about CB, but I would be wary of the "grapevine" on this one. It would be an emotionally charged hire and in everyones's best interest to play it close to the vest.

Agreed. CB is a fine coach and have heard he is an even better human being. Wonder if any of his players would go with him if he were to get/accept the job?

    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
