No Westview, huh?

I have not seen Westview play this season. And, with ScoobyDoo putting them in as a sleeper makes me think they very well could be in it all the way. I do think that Sequatchie can beat anyone if playing one game. But, to make it to the State you must win multiple games. They beat some good teams in Soddy Tourney but lost in the quarter-finals to Grace Baptist who in turn got buried by Beech. Along the way, Sequatchie beat some quality opponents. At the top, I see Goodpasture. By talent, I see Creekwood. By experience and history, I see Unicoi. By pitching, I see Lexington. By hitting, I see Gibbs.

Meaning...it's anyones game.

If Shaylon Robb is pitching for Westview, I'd give them a shot to win against any AA in the state. She's not Ivy Renfroe good, but she's still very good. Their top 5-6 batters are all very good hitters with the next 3 not being far behind. They should make noise in Murfreesboro.

I agree. Both of Westview's pitchers have less than a 1.00 ERA. (Shaylon has about a 0.48 and left-handed sophomore Meagan Prince has about a 0.64) Most of the runs Westview has given up have been on errors. They are a very young team with only two seniors and one junior but very talented. Their pitching and hitting will carry them far. Several of the younger girls are getting comfortable. They are one game from being in the District championship game. (Note: They are in the same district as Covington but Covington has already fallen to the loser bracket) This team has been to state the past four years so this is nothing new to them. Look for them to make some noise late.

Westview will make it back to the "Boro" again unless they have a really bad game. I've seen them play at the "Boro" the last few years. Robb is a sound pitcher.

Update: No particular order.

1) Goodpasture

2)Gibbs

3)Meigs/ Chatt. Central

4)Livingston/Sequatchie County

5)Creek Wood

6)Richland/ Cornersville

7)Unicoi/Elizabethton

8)Lewis County/Lexington

9)Westview-Sleeper

Lexington, benifit of the doubt, add scores

Question> What happened to Camden this year and Convington, did thay lose alot of talent after last year?

Camden beat out Goodpasture last year to get to state, 1st game they faced and beat Unicoi 1-0 to advance.

They both lost a couple of players from last year's squad. Camden lost Amanda Brandenburg (who is now playing for UT Martin and doing extremely well her freshman year) who led that team in both pitching and hitting and also lost a few others who were big contributors. Then, Covington lost I wanna say 3 from last years team. They were still a pretty solid team. Just got upset in district tournament to get put out.

I would say look for Westview and Lexington to make it to state from the West.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
